Forgotten Gods [Nov. 29th, 2010|10:30 am]

[forgotten_mods]

"Immortals are what you wanted," said Thor in a low, quiet voice. "Immortals are what you got. It is a little hard on us. You wanted us to be for ever, so we are for ever. Then you forget about us. But we are still for ever. Now at last, many are dead, many are dying," he then added in a quiet voice, "but it takes a special effort."

-- Douglas Adams

Forgotten Gods follows the deities of ancient mythologies, brought to America long ago by explorers or immigrants from their homelands and eventually abandoned or lost from memory. As their worshippers have moved on to new religions, the gods' powers have waned -- for a god, at its most pure essence, is no more than an idea, and an idea is worthless if there is nobody to believe in it. Some have passed, forgotten, from the world, while others have fallen into madness. Some have simply tried to adapt, to make a life for themselves in this place without gods, getting by on what little scraps of worship and belief they can garner. Others are more radical, intent on regaining the power that was once theirs and reviving their followings.

And then there are the New Gods. Gods of cars and computers, television and radio, cities and highways, all those things that modern Americans put their faith in. They are young, at the height of their power. These newcomers are regarded dismissively by some of the old ones, who have seen so many new deities rise and fall in their time; jealously by others, who wish to reclaim the power for their own; and by all with a deep, abiding wariness.

Inspired by the world of Neil Gaiman's American Gods, this game invites players to step into the roles of deities, old and new, to create their own modern mythology.

Wolf Creek RP [Nov. 29th, 2010|09:15 pm]

[wolfcreekmod]
Wolf Creek. A dense and overcrowded city named for the narrow stream of water that once ran down the middle of what was a small mining town. Unknown to the settling humans at the time, this creek formed the border between two wolf pack territories. Wolves in a constant battle against the growing population taking over their forests.

With time comes change and evolution. Forest has become unforgiving asphalt and towering buildings, neon lights and sound pollution. The creek itself is long gone, replaced now with a weaving street down the center of the city which bears the name of the creek it was built on top of.

The wolf population had become sparse as more humans came and spread, but over time those numbers have once again risen. Wolves that have taken the form of human and converged upon the city to reclaim their territory. They live their lives with humans, as humans, until the full moon rises and they once again return to the form of their ancestors.

Two lycanthrope packs; One to the north, The Aeternam, and one to the south, The Caedis. Ever mindful of the street that still draws the line between their territories as they manage to share this sprawling city. In a world where the largest cities harbor the creatures of the night and bend to the will of the immortals, the city of Wolf Creek belongs to the beasts.

An original character RP only! We welcome all forms of the supernatural as well as every race, gender, ethnicity, sexual orientation and taboo.
