As Feliciano went into his very theatrical speel that was probably best saved for the stage, Julian lifted his eyebrows. Taken aback was not the right expression for what he was feeling at this precise moment in time. It had been unexpected to say the least and Julian wasn't that great with surprises.
"Right," Julian muttered with a nod of his head. "I'd imagine it would. Might also make a bit more sense and draw a whole lot less attention." His lips curled and he chuckled lightly, his way of showing that he was only teasing because in the Carnival you were always prepared for the unexpected. It was just the way of things.
Sure he'd extended his hand first but when he saw the rings on Adrian's hand Julian had a moment where he seriously considered withdrawing the handshake. Deciding that he was more in control now than he had been in the past and no longer felt like a yarn of wool with a fraying end he clasped Adrian's hand in his own, letting his grip tighten. "Welcome to the Carnival, Adrian."
