Who: Diana and Dale
What: Doing what they do best: looking after the land
When: Set for July 3rd when the Carnival moves on
Where: The plot of land where the Carnival had been
Rating: Low, I'd imagine
Status: In Progress
It was the night of their departure from Galesburg, Illinois and whilst the majority of the Carnival had already hit the road in the pursuit of their next town and the next show one truck remained behind. The truck that belonged to one Dale West, but that wasn’t out of the norm considering both himself and Diana hung back when the Carnival departed, to turn their attention to the land beneath their feet. It was a well known fact that despite the Carnival’s careful planning and settling the land still suffered and well, both Dale and Diana lingered in order to ensure that Mother Nature continued to thrive the same way it had before their impromptu arrival.
The evening was late and Diana was probably not best dressed for the chill in the air considering she was in nothing more than a long flowing summer dress and a few well chosen bracelets that adorned wrists that were decorated with the henna ink that was spread across the palms of her hands and over the lengths of her fingers, feet bare, gently pressing against the grass that was now flattened under the movement of vehicles.
She turned her head and sought Dale with her eyes, offering him a smile. “Looks like we have a lot of work on our hands.” Diana tilted her head and listened to the wind around her and how it moved around them, stirring up the lengths of her dress and causing it to wrap around her legs.
Her palms turned outwards towards the ground and her fingers spread apart, slowly. Almost as though she was sensing how the world was fairing around her, letting the sensation seep into her skin and run the length of her arm until she could get a full understanding of how their occupation of the land had affected the natural world and all its inhabitants.
There was a ripple of sensation and she tilted her head, simply feeling her way through it.
