Yuriko’s head snapped up when she heard his feet approaching and she’d shifted a little bit more, human-like ears giving way to the fox ones that now sat on top of her head, poking out through auburn strands, twitching and pressed flat against her hair. Her body was still, mostly, save the fine tremor that showed the fact that her fight or flight instinct was rippling through her.
She twitched as he came closer, watching him carefully with big brown eyes, like she was afraid he’d hurt her, hands curling protectively around her tail, like she was protecting it from him before she just nodded. He’d seen what happened, he knew that the stupid humans- she pressed that thought away and resisted the urge to run and hide, to just shift and disappear until her tail stopped hurting. It was a pointless endeavour, though, there was no place in this Carnival to hide and not see someone unless she went to sit underneath a trailer.
“Someone parked on my tail, “ she said finally, lips downturned. There was a slight kink at the very end, the end that was usually flicking and twitching but instead was very, very still. In fact, her whole tail was still save for the puffed up fur that was standing on end and blowing in the faint breeze.
