Ciaran was secretly thankful that it was easier to read animal emotions compared to human ones. He was worried he was boring the fox with his mumbles and rambles, but that tail put his concern to rest. Put him in front of a human and he would be unsure; they were good at hiding what they felt, putting on false displays, and giving mixed messages. Animals kept it simple. The man felt his ears burn and rubbed at one idly, perhaps giving off the impression it was merely an itch.
"No need for thanks, I'm glad to offer." Well, giving rides was his job after all. Still, making someone's day made his day as well - even briefly. "So…" He struggled for words now, clearly not much of a conversationalist. "What do you … do during shows?" He paused to organize his thoughts. "That is, when everything is going on. Do you still catch rats or do you do something else? Are you in any shows?"
