Question about .....

LJ-SEC: (ORIGINALLY POSTED BY [info]navytron89)

Ok, so who can tell me about the Salesians of Don Bosco (or the Salesian Society, originally known as the Society of St. Francis de Sales)?

I've read some of their online literature and was wondering where they rate on the Dark Christian scale of things?

Good,Bad,unknown???

From what it sounds like its a group that should be leading the Catholics forward into the 21st Century; but with the Grand Inquistor (Nazi Pope) in charge I doubt it will happen. They sound like they are trying to help children and move for children's needs everywhere.

The sound like a good group of Christians, but then again looks can be deciving.

The Sermonizing Doesn't Stop

LJ-SEC: (ORIGINALLY POSTED BY [info]omorka)

Satveer Chaudhary, a practicing Hindu, was elected a state senator in Minnesota. His opponent, Rae Hart Anderson, whose campaign materials focus quite strongly on her "Christian faith," sent him an e-mail rather than phoning to concedede the race; in the e-mail she proceeds to try and convert him to Christianity.

The message continued, "God waits to be gracious to each person that knows they need to be forgiven. Do you? I think you do. "

"When I read it I just shook my head," said Chaudhary. "This just sums up the type of campaign voters were rejecting."

Article here; text of the e-mail here.

I can't imagine what good she thought she was doing; even more, I can't see how being rude by failing to deliver the concession by phone was going to in any way enhance her "Christian" message.
