How intriguing.
We recieved a pamphlet in the mail today called On the EDGE of TIME. Just a quick skim yielded typical apocalyptical evangelical diatribe. "If you don't interpret the Bible as we do, you're going to hell." Well, I guess I'm included in that as well, being as though I'm Episcopalian. Heavy anti-Catholic sentiment is also expressed throughout, referring to the Pope as an agent of Satan. Ho hum. I grew up in the bible belt- this is old hat to me.

This was in one of the chapters, perhaps revealing very clearly dominionist intentions. Here's a direct quote: "When the churches of our land, uniting upon such points of faith as are held by them in common, shall influence the State to enforce their decrees and sustain their institutions, then will Protestant America have formed an image of the Roman hierarchy. Then the true church will be assailed by persecution, as were God's ancient people. Almost every century furnishes examples of what bigotry and malice can do under a plea of serving God by protecting the rights of church and State."

Oh yes, I am so malicious and bigoted because I want to preserve the seperation of church and State. Yes, indeed, my bigotry is evident by my activism to give everyone equal rights. The whole thing sounds like it was written by a schitzophrenic who's been reading too much Biblical literature. Disjointed thoughts and word salad, anyone? It looks like something from a case study out of one of my psychology textbooks.

But hey, at least they're honest about their intentions to establish a theocracy. -snicker- Of course, reading further on, it seems they are intent on this in order to bring about apocalypse. They want to establish this theocracy to taunt Satan into sending the antichrist and beginning armeggeddon.

As it was addressed to "current resident", I have a feeling they're just randomly sending these to people. I would send something back, but you know that giving these people attention only furthers their resolve.
