It had been clear to Harris from early on that Addison was stuck in a bad relationship. What wasn't clear to him was why the fuck the younger boy was staying in said relationship. It wasn't even like he was trying to get out, and Eric kept preventing him from doing so - no, Addison wouldn't even admit that things were wrong. Not explicitly, anyway. But Harris knew, and he was well aware that everyone else knew, too - because Addison had been dropping all the right hints, and if that wasn't a cry for help, than Harris didn't know what was.
The journal entry that he'd made not too long ago was nothing but another one of those pleas, and Harris wasn't going to let it go unheeded. Addison could hate him all he wanted for interfering, for making him face up to what was going on, but if it meant that he was safe, then Harris didn't care. He should have known - he honestly should have - that Addison was at such a risk for revictimization. The signs had all been there, from his fear of facing Andrew, his denial that anything was wrong when Harris first went to Mr. Hemmingway, the self-victimization of his cutting and (supposedly accidental) suicide attempt. It was no wonder he'd found himself stuck once again in the circle of abuse, but, dammit, it made Harris sick. Addison was a good kid, and he didn't deserve any of the shit that life seemed content to keep throwing at him.
With all of that in mind, he'd sought out Riley and asked for his room-key, knowing that Addison probably wasn't going to let him in himself. He had no qualms with busting the door down, to be honest, but he figured it would reflect pretty badly on Archer, and apparently he was doing enough of that already. Still, as he made his way to Addison's room in Johnson Hall, he reminded himself that he needed to give the other boy a chance first, so when he reached the younger teen's door, he forced himself to knock. "I'm only asking once for you to let me in, Addison," he called through the door, "And then I'm letting myself in."
