Fly drabble Title: “Through her eyes” Spoilers: The Fly (1986 remake) Disclaimer: I don’t own the characters or the plot. I’m just borrowing. Summary: Stathis thinks about his relationship with Ronnie. A/N: I don’t know how this portrayal of Stathis’ character came up. He’s one of my favourites and that’s just an effort to explain his obsession with Ronnie.
Stathis was sitting in his car, starring at the old building through his closed window. He didn’t know what had made him follow Ronnie to Brundle’s house. Being the jealous boyfriend wasn’t his type. But there he was, spying on his ex girlfriend, putting at risk both their friendship and their professional relationship.
He just couldn’t stop himself. Stathis blamed Brundle, actually. It was his fault for storming in Ronnie’s life with his mysterious invention and promises for fame and glory. The best story the world has ever seen.
He could feel her slip away. She wasn’t his Ronnie anymore, the girl who worshipped him and listened to his every word, his favorite student. It was not that he didn’t expect it’d happen one day; Ronnie was a very clever and ambitious woman, it was just so sudden. He wasn’t ready.
It was more than a physical thing. Sure, she was gorgeous, but what he really liked about her, and hated to admit it, was the way he used to see himself through her eyes. She made him feel good, and even though he realized he didn’t always deserve her admiration, he welcomed it.
Everything had changed when she met Brundle. Now she could really “see” him, and once again through her eyes he could really see himself too and he didn’t like what he saw.
