"I have the whoooooole day planned. Star Wars movies, series, games... it’s gonna be an awesome day."
Leo knocked on the door of his older sister’s house as his stomach grumbled a little. He was mostly visiting her because he wanted to congratulate her on the Quidditch winning, but there was a part of him that was hoping she would invite her to dinner. He sucked at cooking — well, he hadn’t really tried to cook to be honest, but he had a feeling it would end up in a fire. So yeah, better have Alicia or Emilia do the cooking and he’d do all the eating.
“Door’s open!” Alicia called from the living room. She wasn’t expecting anyone to come over but she wasn’t too surprised someone was stopping by. She’d spent the morning teasing Roger about what exactly he was going to have to clean. She hadn’t mentioned it until that morning though, she knew how frustrating it was to lose the first match of the season.
When she heard the door and saw Leo she smiled. “Let me guess, you’re hungry and Em or Roc turned you down already?” She teased.
He opened the door and walked in, smiling at his sister. “Maaaaaaybe,” he admitted. “I promise I’ll learn how to cook... One day,” he chuckled.
“No, you won’t.” Alicia laughed as she stood up from the couch she’d been sitting on. “I was planning to just have left overs from the other night, but there should be enough for another mouth.” She wasn’t sure if Roger or Katie would be around for dinner, or if Ange, George and Little Fred would drop by but she always had a lot of extra food around, always.
“Hey! Have some faith in your little brother!” He said. “Maybe one day I will learn how to cook. I mean, I can’t survive on noodles and pizza all my life.” He could, he was sure of that. But he truly wanted to learn how to cook, just without setting the whole house on fire.
“You could always try ordering something else for takeaway, or just decide to always eat at the restaurant.” She offered with a shrug. “So, other than starving, what’s up?”
“I don’t wanna spend all my money on food, I have games and figures to buy,” he pointed out. “Besides, I’m sure they’d kick me out eventually for always being there,” he said. “Nothing, really... Excited that tomorrow’s May 4th,” he said with a big grin.
Alicia tried to keep track of the things he was into but sometimes she found it overwhelming. She just never got into some of the muggle games and movies like he had. “They wouldn’t kick you out!” She knew Rocco might, but Emilia never would. She frowned. “Yeah?”
He nodded a little too enthusiastically, perhaps. “I have the whoooooole day planned. Star Wars movies, series, games... it’s gonna be an awesome day.” He was such a nerd and he loved it. “You can come by and watch some movies with me of you want.”
“Right.” She whispered to herself as she remember something about the force but didn’t say that part out loud. “As much as I’d love to, we’ve got some chaser drills in the morning and the afternoon is full of going over plays. Xander doesn’t want any of us to get too excited after the win yesterday. He’s worried about,” she paused. “Well pretty much everything. New-season jitters.”
He pouted but nodded. “It’s okay, I get it,” he smiled. “I’ll probably end up at the Squealing Snitch for Trivia Night... And you were amazing yesterday. I’m real proud you’re my sister.”
“Don’t worry, I won’t miss trivia, just a bit busy getting everything together for the next match,” she smiled softly. “Aww, thank you, that’s very kind of you, and even earns you one less tease for bumming food off of your siblings.”
“Who are you playing against next?” He smiled and shrugged softly. “You all love me bumming food off of you,” he chuckled. “It’s one of my many charms.” Not that he had that many... Or any.
“Catapults,” she answered. “It should be an interesting match.” Alicia was curious about how it would go. Alicia raised her eyebrow at him at his next comment and laughed softly. Did she mind? No. Did she love it? Not always, but that’s how things were with siblings she supposed.
“I want to see you play against the Falcons. Those matches always make me nervous but I really like them,” he mentioned. “Don’t give me that look, okay?” He laughed.
“Think we play them on June 13th, should be a good match. I’ll make sure you get tickets.” Alicia would never admit it but she didn’t actually enjoy playing the Falcons as much simply because she always left those matches in so much pain. “I have no idea what look you are talking about.”
“Thanks, sis,” he smiled brightly. “Yes you do! That arch-your-eyebrow-judgy look,” he laughed.
“Haven’t a clue what you are talking about,” Alicia played innocent. “Come on, least you can help clean the veggies for dinner.”
“Suuuuuure,” he chuckled. “See? That I can totally do. And the kitchen wouldn’t be on fire... I think.” Who knew. Maybe he caused a fire by just cleaning the vegetables. He was that bad at cooking, yes.
“Yeah, yeah,” Alicia rolled her eyes. “Hope at it.”
