“You can see him now,” she heard a healer assistant tell her, Erin practically leapt out of the seat she’d barely been able to sit in. Coming around the corner she saw him starting to sit up from the bed they had him in.
“Hey, aren’t you supposed to be relaxing and taking it easy for a little bit longer?” She said as she came towards him and in a much more forward than normal way put her hands on his shoulders.
Seamus did not like doctors. Or hospitals. Or anything that had to do with that. So as soon as the healer was out of the room, he started to sit up so he could go home. He was almost all the way up when Erin walked in and put her hands on him. “I can relax at home,” he said with a smile.
“No, you can stay here until they tell you it’s okay to go home, and they haven’t said that yet,” she insisted, she wasn’t sure she was ready to admit how scared she’d been.
“You know I’m not gonna be able to rest here, Erin,” he said. “Besides, it’s just a little bump on the head. One aspirin and I’ll be perfect.” It wasn’t just a ‘little bump’. He almost cracked his skull and had a concussion, but he just didn’t want to stay there.
“I get that, I do, but you’re not going anywhere until they discharge you,” she repeated a little more forcefully which wasn’t normal for her at all. “They might let you out soon, or it might be a few hours, but no, you’re stuck here until they discharge you.”
He arched an eyebrow at her words but nodded, knowing there was no winning this battle. Still, he didn’t lay back down just yet. He liked the feeling of her hands on his shoulders. “Will you stay with me?”
Erin was ready to fight more if she had to, but when he seemed to give in she smiled. “Yeah,” she nodded softly. “I’m not going to go anywhere until you are discharged” She shrugged. “Someone has to make sure you don’t try and sneak out.”
His smile widened and he reached out to tuck a strand of blonde hair behind her ear. “Thank you, Erin.”
“Yeah,” she nodded, “I’m not going to go anywhere.” She blushed slightly as he moved her hair. “You really scared Terry and me.”
“I’m sorry,” he said softly. “I didn’t think those boxes would fall so hard on me.” He was glad Terry had been there and called the mediwizards.
“I think we might put in some safety measures so that doesn’t happen again,” she said nodding her head as she thought about it.
He nodded. “Yeah, that’s a good idea,” he chuckled softly. “Thank you for coming.”
Erin frowned slightly. “Where else would I be?” She’d even forgotten about the big meeting she was supposed to be in when she got the text.
He smiled and shrugged. “I don’t know, somewhere else more important than with a stupid guy with a big bump on his head,” he chuckled.
“When you get a text that your boyfriend is bleeding from his head and knocked out, I don’t think there is anywhere else I should be,” Erin said with a small shrug. She hadn’t really meant to say boyfriend, but she figured that he was right?
He arched an eyebrow and smiled playfully at the word boyfriend. His hands found themselves resting on her hips. “Is that what I am? Your boyfriend?”
Erin’s cheeks flushed quickly. “I mean, if, I don’t know?” She said unsure really what she was supposed to say. “If, if you want to be?” She didn’t mean it to be a question but it came out that way.
He smiled when she blushed, and had an urge to kiss her right there and then. Did she know how adorable she was? Not really thinking it twice, he leaned in to kiss her softly.
