Who: Calvin and Liam What: A first encounter Where: Liam's apartment building When: Friday, June 29th, midmorning Rating: Probably low
Calvin was glad that he'd found his old bike in the family's shed. It had never been the fastest or the prettiest one on the road, but it was useful now in getting from points A to B. Rather than scavenge in more stores, though, Calvin was starting to think he might have better luck actually looking through people's apartments. It seemed like a heartless thing to do, he knew, but was it really any more heartless than stealing things from the shelves?
He slowed his bike a little when he passed something he hadn't seen before, though - a swathe of red graffiti against a parking garage. His brow crinkled a little as he read it, then reread it. He hadn't remembered seeing it before, but that didn't mean it was totally new, did it? Shaken, Calvin rode on until he got to a promising-looking apartment complex. Leaning his bike against the far corner, Calvin entered and began poking around.
He hadn't gone too far, though, when a soft growl met his ears. He turned slowly and winced, looking down at the dog that was gazing at him from across the room.
"Um..." he said shakily, backing away. "Nice... dog?"
