Steve couldn't help but smile back. Just a little bit. Uneasy as he was about this conversation, there was hardly ever a time where he wouldn't answer Bucky's warmth with some of his own. He squinted out towards the water, slipping his hands into his pockets. "Seems like a good day for it, doesn't it?"
Although, they both knew Steve wasn't out there to go fishing. He tilted his head, his attention returning to Bucky. "I'm sorry for being so cold towards you. I just.. wasn't sure what to say." Honestly, he still hadn't completely collected his thoughts. But enough was enough. Even if the outcome was an unpleasant one, they really needed to reach a resolution. They couldn't keep playing the avoidance game forever.
"Talk to me, Buck. I was too upset to listen to you before, but I am listening now. And I really want to hear what you have to say about.. all of this."
