It was so easy to slip into a kind of daze that was almost like sleep while sitting there on the lobby floor. As much as Regulus wanted to figure out his situation, he'd been through an ordeal, and wanting to rest his head back against the pillar and close his eyes for just a moment was winning out.
He barely heard Sabrina enter the lobby and was really only aware of her when she addressed him directly.
He wanted to object- who was this person? Just offering to help? His objection was not about the magic, though. Of course magic would be used. It was just that help had never come to him unsolicited and certainly not without an exchange of compensation - and it wasn't like he was in a position to offer anything.
But he was too slow to say anything before he felt the tingling sensation Sabrina said he would feel.
The whole process shocked him from the start. First, there was no wand. Second, Sabrina touched him, where was the wand to do that for her? Third, he didn't know of any spell that would make his wounds glow. Also, where was the wand?
When she was done, Regulus first glanced down at his fingers that just moments before were too painful to move, but now he could flex with ease.
Then he glanced at Sabrina.
"How did you do that?" was the first thing he asked. No expression of gratitude, that wouldn't come, pureblood wizards didn't have to mind their P's and Q's and even having his life surely saved wouldn't make Regulus start now unprompted.
