Diana had already settled into something of a rhythm here. It surprised her, considering it had been a scant two weeks or so since she’d arrived to begin with. She still had trouble sleeping, and something about this place still ate at her, but otherwise, Diana was more or less fine. She walked her assigned patrols, made friends and lived a life, though it was not the one she had been living. That was a fact which could not be ignored, and it had led to her lack of sleep and the consistent feeling of unease that she carried around inside her.
It made sense, all things considered. In any case, she had woken today without any concrete plans or expectations of any sort of differences in her day at all. So imagine her surprise when she stepped outside the front door of the hotel and did not find the grounds she’d expected, but a skyline she recognized. New York City, though perhaps not the one she’d been taken from. A New York, and that was enough for Diana.
And it might’ve been a silly first thought, but you know. She’d been to New York, and she was absolutely sure that Thor had been as well, but she’d never been here with him and that made it different. So instead of rushing off into the city, she stopped in her tracks and went back into the hotel. Thor was on the first floor, so Diana didn’t have to go very far, and this was one of the few times she displayed a total lack of awareness of others. In her excitement, she very nearly knocked his door off its hinges when she knocked. The wood creaked as if to chastise her and she knocked more gently, but the sound had already been made.
“Thor!” Excited, a bubbled chirp, or as chirpy as her smooth voice could get. Diana privately felt that if she’d been a bird, she’d have been the tone-deaf seagull from The Little Mermaid, but that wasn’t relevant now. “We’re in New York! The hotel has moved!” Well, now anyone on the first floor knew, or at least this hallway.
