The Paragons had been saved, that was all that mattered, Clark had to believe that, he had to believe they would do whatever it took - to their very last breath. He trusted Kara with that, and so when his death came for him he didn't fight it - there was only acceptance. Until he opened his eyes again. And was not simply consumed by the Anti-Monitor but instead found himself in what looked like a hotel. He frowned as he listened to the message on the phone, and put in his information on the computer to be given a key and a room number. He'd had no expectations for what it would be like to be consumed by anti-matter but somehow this had never been something he'd considered.
But maybe it made a sort of sense, to be here - in a place to wait. Because that's what he had to do now - just wait, for Kara and the others to make their stand and bring back their worlds. Still knowing that and living that were two very different things. He hoped that Lois and John were safe wherever they were waiting too, that they knew it would only be a matter of time. It had him gripping his key a little more tightly than he should the metal threatening to give way in his hand.
He should change maybe, or find something to change into - see his room. But instead Clark found himself at a loss, too numb with the realization of everything he stood to lose in this moment while he stood there in the lobby listening to this place - there were several people here, more than he'd expect, but that had to be a good sign there were others who were waiting too - his heart gave a wild flip at the thought of Lois being one of them, but she wasn't there, hers was a heartbeat, a voice, a presence he'd have been able to pick out among billions. In that regard at least he was alone here, but he wasn't actually alone, someone was walking his way.
