Rey had been tempted to go out looking for him, but didn't want him to pop into the room and find her not there. It was a catch-22 and it made her stomach fill with unease. The distress she felt when she woke up without being tethered to him had been alarming. She'd already told Hux how she'd feel if he'd suddenly got sent home. She'd have been a full emotional wreck if he was dead again. When she'd gotten the message on the forum, she felt only a little guilt at the relief that washed over her as he was freaking out. It helped her keep calm enough to try and keep him grounded. They might not have the force, but she was just happy he was still alive. The force was only secondary to him not being taken away. She did miss it, having learned to lean on it so heavily in the last few months. The power had become an extension of herself. Now it felt like a limb was missing, so she could only imagine what Ben was going through when he'd had it longer. He'd been delivered safely and she'd gotten help getting him into the shower to wash up. She had been tempted to ask Hux more questions, but she was content to have her fear of him being sent home abated on sight. Hearing that him and Poe were fine, she pushed any worry of them aside and focused on the man that had been delivered to her room. She was sitting on the bed with her legs crossed, waiting for Ben to finish. She'd left the door open so he could see her if he needed to and so that she could keep an eye on him as well. BB-8 expressed his concern with some slow patterned beeps and boops and D-O expressed his worry, with his words. She assured both droids that things would be okay. They'd just have to wait it out and see what happened. "Stay in there any longer and you'll turn into a mon calamari," she called from the bed. It was just something to remind him she was there, without being too serious about it in hopes of lightening the mood. |
