Audrey was at least partially aware that she may have been the tiniest bit in over her head. But she'd told herself that was the whole purpose of having conversations about things with people, so she would know where her depth was and whether or not everyone's needs and whatnot could be met. And she was actually kind of unusually calm about the whole thing. She'd barely even thought about it that morning, though it crossed her mind briefly when she was making lunch, and again when she was digging through her drawers for something other than leggings to wear the rest of the day. By the time Joey started to get ready to go down to the dance studio, it had finally settled into her the front of her brain. It would be fine, though. She could totally have a conversation like a normal human being. And they had at least a couple of hours to hash things out and then... whatever happened, happened. That was also about the time she realized she'd barely touched lunch and she'd been staring at the same five minutes of footage she definitely had not managed to edit. She plucked a grape out of the bowl and popped it into her mouth and leaned over her laptop, forcing herself to flick through the frame by frame layout to find the exact right place to cut and transition to the next section. It wasn't anything important, but she tried to put the same amount of attention and effort into everything she did, even when her mind was elsewhere. It was the curse of ADHD but she dealt with it. Not too long after Joey left, came the knock at the door. And, almost relieved, she snapped her laptop shut and set it on the nightstand on her way over to answer it. She wasn't entirely sure what was going to happen here, but she felt like she was as ready for it as she was going to be. |
