Joey had a fair grasp of the importance and cultural value of ragtime, but he still couldn’t help but be amused at the thought since it was so tied to old folks on laundry day in his mind. It was hard for him to envision the man across from him settling into one of the hotel chairs with a glass of wine to enjoy the rhythm of the chosen records instead of dressed in an apron hanging tablecloths up to dry.
What did he know, though? It could have been one of those things where people attached a great deal of value to history. A lot of people loved their chosen time period so much that it warmed their hearts just to interact with the media of the time. That was what kept antique stores’ lights on and doors open, after all.
‘Are you a history buff or do you just enjoy the romantic flair of The Only Way to Keep a Gal is to Keep Her in a Cage?’ Joey scrawled on the paper pad jokingly. A muted laugh escaped him as he held it up to be read.
