Who: Miguel O'Hara, open to all
Where: The lobby
When: November 2, evening
What: Dia de los Muertos
Status: Open
Warnings: None
The altar hadn't been harmed by the hotel's sudden decision to kick everyone out. Miguel had noticed a few more additions to the ofrendas, including a little paper boat, although he had no idea who had put them there. And the candles that had been lit before were still lit now, so that was good.
It felt a little bit odd to for it to be Dia de los Muertos and there not being a picture of his Abuela up on the altar, but this was 2020. His Abuela was still only 11 years old in this time, after all. He had other people to remember, though. Family, of course, some of whom were actually dead in this time - his Abuela had been big on her family stories, so he'd heard all about them. And ...friends, he supposed? Dana hadn't been born yet, so... somehow that was different. This was his first Dia de los Muertos with her on the altar, and he needed to acknowledge that, and move on. He already was moving on. So, he left some of his pan de muerto on the altar, and a shot glass of tequila for Tio 'berto and another glass with some red wine in it for Dana. Then he lit a candle for them, and drank a shot of his own.
It would be a weird Dia de los Muertos. No street parties, no Gabri, no 'Actually being in Mexico', nothing that he was used to. But it was going to be a good one, he thought. He left the empty glass on the altar, upside down, and went back to the bar, eating torn-off bits of his pan de muerto as he went.

OoC: Again, feel free to have people add their offerings to the altar or have thinky thoughts at it! There's no need to talk to Miguel if you'd rather just have your character adding things!
