LUCIUS MALFOY REPLACES FORMER HEADMASTER DUMBLEDORE

After weeks of speculation, Lucius Malfoy has been appointed Headmaster of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Staring Monday, he will replace Professor Minerva McGonagall, who has been acting as Headmistress since Dumbledore's arrest in January. One of the twelve members of the Hogwarts Board of Governors, Malfoy has long been associated with the Minister for Magic and was named a front-runner to take the position soon after Dumbledore was arrested for treason. When asked what changes the school could expect, a representative of the Board of Governors said, "While we cannot comment on the specifications, the Board feels that appointing Lucius Malfoy will make the transition as smooth as possible." While the Board will not comment, rumours have been swirling for weeks that certain classes such as Defence Against the Dark Arts and Muggle Studies will be replaced with more relevant courses, a move which the Minister has long lobbied for. Dumbledore is expected to go on trial Tuesday.

THE DAILY PROPHET HEADMASTER ALBUS DUMBLEDORE ARRESTED Albus Dumbledore, Headmaster of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, was taken into custody Saturday evening and booked on charges of treason against the Ministry of Magic and conspiracy to commit terrorism against the magical world. While the Ministry has not yet released a statement to the press, an anonymous source has confirmed that the Ministry was tipped off by one of Dumbledore's inner circle, an elite group once known as the Order of the Phoenix before disbanding after Minister Voldemort's ascent in 1975. No clues to the identity of the spy have been leaked. Dumbledore is expected to stand trial in front of a full Wizengamot within the month. If convicted of both charges, he will serve a life sentence in Azkaban coupled with a Dementor's Kiss.

The Malfoy family had a rough year and a half, but that didn't mean Draco stopped caring about his parents. Even if he didn't go home for the entirety of school breaks those days, at least he spent some time with Lucius and Narcissa which was an improvement. He still wished they could understand his beliefs and attachment to witches like Lily Potter, but the fact that they didn't disown him gave him hope that they could possibly carry on as a family unit. However, he knew he couldn't expect them to compromise alone. He had to meet them half-way. Well, at least as best as any teenager could. For that, he decided to pay a visit to his mother's quarters. He hoped she was there and had not gone home to visit his father, but once he made a decision, he stuck to his guns. He had to at least try.

He knocked lightly at the door and waited for either an elf to appear or his mother's voice to call out.
