Look, people -- and by "people" I mean, broadly, posters to pb_updates --
India is not the Middle East. The Middle East is not India. This is the single most common ethnicity fail on pb_updates. Look, as a sheltered white chick, I understand that the difference is not obvious if you're not aware of it, but the solution to this is to become aware of it. And, you know, google.
East Asian is not Native American. Maori is not Native American. European is definitely not Native American, I don't care what Stephenie Meyer says. Yes, there are Native American actors out there. Some of them have even been in movies!
Not everyone with a Spanish name is Latino/Hispanic. Some of them are, y'know, Spanish. Conversely, blonde people can be Latino. So can black people. Google it.
Sometimes a dark-haired, dark-eyed white guy is just a dark-haired, dark-eyed white guy. Yes, even if he has a ~life tan~. It is okay to make icons of white people. You do not have to mislabel them to score Cool Points.
Even if you don't care about being ~politically correct~, which God fucking forbid, you should probably care about not being wrong. If you think, e.g., an Iranian girl can "pass" for Parvati Patil -- fine, but at least acknowledge that she is not, in fact, Indian. And if you honestly can't tell the difference, FUCKING GOOGLE IT. Stop perpetuating "facts" that you pulled out of your ass.
Comments are screened, because none of this is really up for debate.
