Summary: Elisha reorganizes finished portraits in his window and thinks deep thoughts.
He would like to say, Elisha thought as he adjusted a portrait in his display window and stepped back to check the position, that there was nothing worrying about the current climate in wizarding London. But in truth, he felt the same kind of building pressure now as he did a couple of years back, after he fled Poland. Some people would probably tell him he was a paranoid person. He'd never denied that.
But then the revoking of student visas were only the latest concerning measure. He did his best, after all, to mute his accent when he was out and about in Diagon Alley, and he'd warned Hadyn when he'd gone out to acquire his papers to keep his mouth closed whenever possible - because inns were known to refuse lodgings to wizards from their area of the world, and you could never trust a drunken mob, honestly. The entire atmosphere was enough to make him consider another move, he thought. Ariella was happy here, but how long before some of the comments from her friends' parents and relatives trickled down to her friends? Perhaps they should consider America.
Though, really, he thought as set another portrait in place, he doubted Americans would be any better.
