Parvati moved most of her small furniture to the corners of the room in preparation for the small number of guests that were set to arrive. She couldn’t honestly believe that so many people were interested in coming. She wasn’t surprised that there were more blokes than females interested in joining in the party. Women really could be so self-conscious about their bodies (her best friend included in the masses due to her scars). She’d never been self-conscious. The only thing that ever really bothered her was comparison to her sister. Being a twin had its perks but it also had its determents. It was dreadful when she fancied someone and they fancied Padma more or when someone referred to Padma as pretty or wonderful and left her out in the cold. They were two very different people but they were the same – it was hard to process in her head sometimes.
As far as she was aware, her twin was not going to make an appearance and that was something she was pleased with. She did wish other girls would show up. She was concerned about possibly having her hands full. She’d done a consider amount of flirting to get people into this and if there was a competition that might be dangerous. She didn’t like complication or conflict. She preferred to keep it simple. She sometimes did it without thinking. It was like a second language to her really. Setting up, she opted to not over think it. She liked gambling a bit. Not just at poker but all aspect of the evening.
She left a table in the middle of the living room and some chairs, enough for six or seven people. If they had more people then they’d have to come up with a new plan. She set out the cards and made sure all the liquor that she’d brought in was line up along the counters in her kitchen that was attached. Her bedroom door was shut though she’d picked it up during the day too. She supposed people could shove jackets and such in there if they wanted. It wasn’t that big of a deal.
It was mostly a waiting game and she was going to do a whole lot of it. She started pacing once she had everything set up and extra layers of clothes on just in case she hit a losing streak. She’d never put so much effort into her layers before. It was sort of fun though. A surprise at every layer! She jumped at the first knock and bounced toward the door expectantly. Who would be the first to arrive?
“Coming,” she said cheerfully!
