Who: Cam and Alex
What: Playing Paragon's Epoch
Where: Otherworld
When: Late Afternoon

Cam wasn't entirely sure what it was about Paragon's Epoch that drew him to it. Honestly, when he'd walked into Otherworld that morning he'd done it more as a gag, a waste of time, than to actually play anything. This way he could say he'd tried it if anyone asked, completely confident in the fact that video games were mostly for children and deadbeats who didn't have anything better going on in their lives. Hours later, strutting around in his female felid assassin (the male was equally pretty, but didn't walk with the same swag), he figured that logic was still mostly true, he just hadn't been aware of how much he'd fit into both of those categories. He'd gotten a pitiful excuse for a nap in earlier, and mostly intended to get one once they'd finished, before work began once more. Maybe. Probably. The game made him feel like a new, different person, and an old, familiar one at the same time. It called to his childhood, to the fun, lighthearted part of him he'd mostly forgotten.

He'd also forgotten what an absolute fucker he'd been back then.

"Stop stealing my fucking kills, retard!" The voice screamed at him again as Cam snickered and ran around Alex's lovely elven archer. The dragonling warrior played by some young voice with the name SUPAKILLA stomped around in a circle, as if hunting for the loot the party's newest kill might have dropped. The kid was mostly leeching experience off of them as they worked on getting to the next level. Fifteen minutes of that told Cam that, dammit, he as going to get something from all that work.

"I'm not doing anything, puppypie." Cam replied dryly, shaking his head within the confines of the dark lounger even as his eyes saw nothing but the bright, colorful world around him. A second later, he used his Blink skill to teleport behind the next bear just as its health was nearly depleted, sinking both curved daggers into the brown, fuzzy form before it collapsed onto the ground.

"Knock it off, dickhole!" The voice came again, and it took all of Cam's self control not to snort with laughter.

"Aaaaaaw, sorry sweetie. I didn't see you there. Shouldn't you be in school?" Cam did his best to shove the sound of an innocent pout into that statement, but it failed toward the end. SUPAKILLA caught this, and an indignant grunt echoed through the speakers.

"I'm twenty, you dick." The kid replied, smashing his two-handed sword into the bear monotonously. No skills, no special attacks. Smash smash amash.

Cam couldn't help but snort at that. He opened his menu and switched his new dagger to his dominant hand, then returned again. "Oh, honey, no. No you're really not."

"Yes, I am."

"Okay, kiddo, what year were you born?" Cam challenged, and before the kid could to the math to reply, another bear was downed by an arrow. At least this time it hadn't been him. That didn't seem to matter though.

"You're a cocksucker!!" The statement was practically screamed just before [SUPAKILLA has left the party] flashed before his eyes.

There was a second of silence before Cam chirped lightly. "Well, he called me out on that one. Gotta hand it to him." He brushed the whole incident off a few seconds later, his voice taking on a personable tone once more as he engaged in combat with the next bear. "Well, I can save up ten thousand gold for a basic clan, or we can save up to one hundred thou and get the luxurious, fabulous, deluxe clan. That's a twenty-five-kay discount if we go the direct route instead of getting the basic poor-as-fuck version and upgrading later. Preferences, peach?"

Honestly, they might as well have cost a million gold each for all the good it did either of them. At level eleven, despite being so close to twelve that it hurt, he had less than two hundred gold. Alex, who'd started after him, was likely carrying far less. Still, it didn't hurt to dream. "The deluxe clan castle is twice as big, and allows us to have fifty members. We can also customize it-ooo we can build a fountain."
