HAI! I'm Steph from Belgium and I work four days out of five as a librarian at a school for the mentally disabled, a job I started two months ago, thereabouts. It took me a while to get the hang of the hours, but then I discovered caffeinated coffee. It's been a blessing, I can tell you that. Warning here, sometimes my brain is slow at translating stuff. I'm European and I think in three languages (four if I'm feeling particularly crazy). Sorry if that happens. :/ I also tend to go to bed by midnight my time (longer if I'm inspired or excited) but I have two days off this week, so I'll definitely be around long long time!
Soooo, erm. I got Samir here, an original character from a short lived game named wearenameless. To cut a couple of dozen pages' worth of information short, he's from the future. Well, that's cutting it very short, innit? Here's the gist of it; people have discovered how to drastically alter DNA, up to the point where they're gifted with superpowers. Not that these poor people were ever used for good intents; instead, they were shuffled into the world's various armies and had to fight the war. Or well, two. But they got fed up and went underground. A couple of hundred years later, you have a whole underground society whose existence is constantly threatened by the humans topside. Not only can they (the Altered) be killed on sight, but can also be captured and experimented on for scientific purposes. (After all, generations worth of breeding changes powers.)
Samir isn't anyone extremely special, in the large scheme of things - he grew up underground, was eventually captured like thousands of others, but managed to live through years of torture, only to join the enemy's side. Very temporarily, that is, because he ran back off to the underground the first chance he got. Fresh food? He doesn't know it. A city that hasn't been reduced to rubble, where he can actually live without being hunted down? What on earth. And the sunlight. Oh my.
Samir's ... a quiet guy who is always on alert, always thinking. He's got a penchant to buy the weirder things life can offer, such as scorpion infused vodka, which he'll happily gobble up. He's also got a couple of powers, which are less of a boon than one would think. Basically, he's energy and unfortunately, he's leaking. And he no likey cops and doctors. Sorry, but that's the way it is.
And yeah, he's got Mitchell's PB. If this is a problem, I can try to find another PB.
And next, I have Stephen. From the same world, only he's sort of in a gray area. He works for the enemy - has worked for the enemy his entire life. However, certain friends that I shan't name have steered him right, so to speak. His origins are like Samir's, with the altered DNA and whatnot, but because of his excellent military record, he was cloned.
Over and over again and then shelved over and over again after each war, until he got a reprieve. Unfortunately, that meant he had to help hunt down his fellow Altered. And Stephen isn't the kind of man to sit by idly and let that just happen. So he leaked information through to the Underground, crossed his fingers and hoped for the best. And ordered pizzas with weird toppings.
BECAUSE HE'S A MAN, YOU SEE. AND REAL MEN EAT WEIRD STUFF. So he says.
Stephen's a comedian, or rather, he uses comedy to hide certain issues. He's also loud, a furry ball of hyperactivity and he's an American boy through and through and he's old, but he doesn't age. And he's got a strong memory - in fact, he can't forget a thing. Sometimes that makes him :(, especially in light of all the crap he's seen in the war. And to make it worse, memories of his past lives are leaking through ... which means, more instability. Which should be hilarious. :D Because the more traumatized he gets, the more he uses humor and hyperactivity to hide it.
Then there's SPIKE. He's ... well, Spike. Just about sums him up, all mooning over Buffy and having a manly beef with Angel and rescuing the world from all them things that go bump in da night. :D
AND CAN I JUST SAY THAT I LOVE THE POSSIBILITY OF THROWING IN OUR ORIGINAL CHARACTERS.
