Do children go trick or treating on the island for Halloween?

Other than Sophia and Hans I don't know if there are any children old enough for trick or treating, I think they're all still infants (except for the grown up versions running around).

My daughter's almost four. I'd take her if anyone was giving out candy. I think House's daughter Sunila is twelve and there was a birthday party for a boy who just turned eight.

Shows how well I've been paying attention! I can find some candy to hand out. Will your daughter be in costume?

Yes, she's going to be a pirate.

I remember how the last few days before Halloween seemed to stretch out forever.

Rachel keeps asking me how many more sleeps until Halloween.

What is that?

It's a Halloween tradition - children wear costumes, knock on doors and say "trick or treat". People give them candy in return.

For free?

Yes. That's the treat. It's said that if they don't, then the children play a trick on them. Children don't usually do the trick part though.

Can children of any age participate in this?

Yes, but they may feel they're too old by the time they're teenagers.

My son is a year and three months old.

I think you could take him around, as long as he's not scared of strangers. There are many cute, warm costumes for children that age.

That's so sweet.

My Rachel went through a shy stage, but you'd never know it now.

Ooh, and here Peggy asked the question I had already...

Well, wait: I do have another question: Do you think that I could take my -- erm-- 15 day old daughter to Trick-or-Treating and get sweets for mummy, herself? Heh... I'm only kidding mostly!

You kid, but I've seen people do it. :)

Ooh, have you really now? I mean... maybe I shall take my baby girl around the neighbourhood...! I mean, just for sweets and to -- to show off her utter adorability!

Could I maybe take Rachel with me, too? Just to you know, legitimise my trip a little bit more...? Heh... Sorry, ma'am! Not that I'm attempting to steal your child or anything of the sort...!

I'll be taking her myself. You're welcome to join us. Rachel'd love to see the baby.

Many new parents go through that. There's nothing to worry about with Rachel, I promise. She's been around babies in daycare.
