Open notice to the island residents
Hey folks!

This is just a little bit of a - thing, to follow up on Rodion Raskolnikov's earlier notice about the door to 2017 New York City... It's mine own home world, so I know it well...

Anyway's, well, if anyone wants to visit a version of Manhattan that isn't completely wrecked up by aliens and such as... Well, 2017 is definitely the time to do that, so... Yeah...! If you want to visit, I can show you around, maybe... Although, it is the last two weeks of the City, and so: it may not be so cheerful and tourist-y as you could hope for reasonably at any other time...!

Yes, that's right: I said the last two weeks of New York City; I mean, literally, there's a G-d=damned nuke buried somewhere in Central Park, and even if the fellow who buried it could remember exactly where it was buried, well - it's already armed and active, and he says that there's no way in Hell that he could manage to disarm it, so... We'll be starting evacuations soon enough, from the city... I mean, we as in, "current" me, and the Foreign Legion, who are in the City on account of Human Rights issues that have plaque the administration of President Billy Snyder since he started his fascist reign...!

Sorry; I'm bitter, if you can't tell...! Heh...

Anyway's, well, free tours of 2017 New York City, if you come see me... And if you want to help with the evacuations, feel free to... I'm sure they could use the extra hands, especially if there are hands that don't necessarily have to ship out with the choppers, seeing as how they're magically gonna end up back on this island, even if they do get blown to smithereens by the nuke!

Sorry, my sense of humour is obviously warped here. I mean, you may see "me" carrying around a bag that shows some old WWII propaganda picture about the war efforts and women's work in it, and it was captioned by some very clever person (far cleverer than me at least!) : "It's OK; I wasn't using my civil liberties anyway's!"

G-d, I miss that bag...! Maybe I can steal it from myself, before the city goes... Hah!

Oh yes, I've so damned busy being bitter here that I forgot to tell you some of the attractions of this version of New York City...! I mean, I know a lot of people here have been seeing Wicked over in 2012 NYC, but... well, that show's on the road and amateur hour by my time! We do have a couple of very amazing musicals, however: like say, The Snow Queen (incidentally, the island's door actually exits out of the stage door to that show's theatre!) and of course, Le Cloitre De Saint-Mery, which is one of my absolute favourite shows ever! :)

I mean, of course, the casts will be going out with the evacuees within a week or so - or rather: they'll be stealing a Coast Guard boat, to escape the city by other means - to keep the memory of the city alive, you know...? So yeah, you'll want to hurry in to catch them!

Also: sorry this notice is so damned long, folks!

Actually, if you die on the other side of the door, you stay dead. Were you not paying attention when Marta Shearing was killed? Maybe get your head out of your ass and look around a bit.

No, sir, I'm afraid I wasn't, because I was too busy at the hospital to even turn ON my device here for several days on end... Because of your version of NYC was pulling Doctors Banner and Cuddy through the door to take care of the people there...! I mean, not that I blame you or the people who are injured beyond the door; I would have done the same thing for them, really, if I wasn't already covering shifts at the hospital here....!

Honestly, sir, I heard that some people had in fact come back after the doors closed... So... yeah, that is what I was going by when I suggested that there was no way that they would end up blown up...!

They were fine when the door closed, though. They weren't dead. And considering that Marta made her way through the hospital morgue, being in the hospital is no excuse. Even Dr. Emerson has had time to check the feed and he's been pulling double shifts at both the hospital here and through the door.

You can say tha you've been too busy but that's just an excuse. Especially since you knew about the previous post regarding the door. So just go back into your little hole of ignorance and leave the rest of us alone.

Not so sure why you bother with her, big boy. You're wasting your own highly intelligent brain cells on someone that cannot possibly comprehend anything of what you're saying.

It amazes me that her world was that desperate for doctors.

I don't think she has a leg to stand on. She can't blame our doctors. I think in all technicality we don't exist to the real world. Their problem is their problem. We just happen to be generous enough to lend a hand while we can.

I think you're right, to an extent. I think that the real world, whatever version we may be from, doesn't notice our absence, so to speak. Richards could explain this better than I can.

If he pops up here on the island, I'll send him your way. Though I think you'd have more fun with his brother-in-law.

And why would I be more entertained by his brother-in-law? It takes a lot to keep my interest.

He's called the Human Torch. He can light any part of his anatomy on fire.

Mr Stark, can you turn the communication devices off?

Me specifically or a generic "you"? And what do you mean by turn them off, just power them down?

Apologies, a generic 'you'. I was unaware they could be turned off, but the young woman seems to have turned hers off for 'several days on end'.

Yeah. There's a power button on the side. You just have to hold it down.

That was the most boring read I have had on this entire device.

I think maybe someone, and I'm not going to say who, should go get "blown to smithereens by the nuke!"

Already done, cheers, dear...! I mean, I ended up here after I got blown up by the nuke! :) So sorry; I guess I'm not going to be got rid of that easily because there's obviously someone who wants me on this island....
