I know this sort of thing might not be unusual, but my computers and other stuff, including my entire record collection, has just been delivered to our apartment, so whoever is responsible, thanks, I appreciate it.

You can thank me for making the wish and Isabel for having the power to pull it off.

Well thank you indeed! And to whom do I owe this debt of gratitude? Have we met before? I'm Auggie.

I don't think so? I'm Izzy Shaw. I just made a wish that everyone who was missing things from home should get them.

It's very nice to meet you Izzy, and that's a really nice gesture. Is this sort of thing common around these parts? And who might Isabel be?

Likewise Auggie, thank you. I just thought it would be really selfish to have the wishes and spend them all on myself, you know?

Is what sort of thing common around here?

Isabel runs the diner, and she also is a genie. You know, the lamp bound wish granting variety?

Uh, right, picture a stunned into silence me right now. OK? Now I'm no longer silent. You are of course serious and I have no reason to doubt you, I'm sorry, please don't take that the wrong way. After all I'm only just getting used to my own body again after having spent 3 days as my girlfriend.

So I guess I just answered my own question - yes, this sort of thing happens often around here.

The question now is how long it will take for us to get used to the concept.

You didn't have magic in your world did you? It's ok.

How did you enjoy life as a woman for three days? I can relate, I just spent three days as my future self. My massively pregnant future self.

I don't know how to answer that.

Sorry, excuse my stream of consciousness talking, I'm used to thinking and talking like that when problem solving. In answer to your questions:
- no, we didn't have magic in our world. Some back there may beg to differ, but it certainly isn't an everyday thing.
- it might have been a little easier if I wasn't dealing with my girlfriend having been in my body, which is blind, so I was more concerned about looking after her, than well, looking after me as her, if that makes any sense.
- it really was just a rhetorical question!

Gotcha. It was a common thing where I come from originally, so much so that I'm a technomage.

I wish I'd known! I could have spent that last wish on restoring your sight instead of getting access to reference materials from back home.

You just kind of learn to accept it without really trying to think too hard about it.

OK, translation would have me thinking that you are either a magical scientist, or a scientific witch! And thanks for the thought, that's really kind, but I'm doing OK for the moment.

Um...probably closer to the second than the first, though I'm also trained as an electrical engineer.

Well that's something at least. I hope it continues. How long have you and your girlfriend been on the island?
