Don't mind me, just going on my holibobs. If anyone needs me for whatever reason, I'm in Spain.

Want some company? I know the area and the era.

That sounds wonderful. Yes, please. I know the language and I have vague memories of history lessons, but if you're willing to play tour guide, I'm not stupid enough to say no.

A guide is a good idea, Tom and I probably should have had one of those when we went on Saturday.

Nothing a little magic on the sly couldn't fix, but we took a wrong turn (my fault) and encountered some of the seedier citizens of the lovely city who were wanting a toll for passing through their alley.

Excellent. My Spanish isn't as good as it could be- I often end up slipping into French and confusing matters even further! So, you can be the translator, I'll be the guide. Together we should get by fairly decently. Do you mind a child tagging along? My own, you understand, it's not some wacky proposal.

No, no, that's fine. I like children.

Wonderful. He's a good-natured child, quiet and curious. I'll meet you at the door shortly.

Aw! And if he gets scared by the bulls running about at all, sir -- well, he can always come back and stay with his "mummy" until you're back from Spain...!

Not to worry, the bulls only run for a few minutes of a day. But thank you, you know I appreciate the offer. You should come through sometime, get a drink, bring your gentleman friend.

Indeed, sir, but really now, it wasn't so much an offer for your sake, as it was an excuse to spend some more time with ickle Bumby...! Heh! Sorry, sir...

But yes, I think I shall do that... So long as I don't end up watch you run around in the bull-ring, that is!

Ah, ulterior motives I see! Well, you're always welcome to come on over and grab him whenever you feel like you want his company. I'm hardly precious about him. You're rather more qualified than the cat, even if he has shown up.

No, no, I've had my fun with the running. From now I'll stick to being a spectator. Don't want to push my luck, you know?

Aw! Well, that's a sterling recommendation as to my child-minding skills if I ever heard one: I'm "rather more qualified" than the bloody CAT at minding the HUMAN babe...! HAH!

Ah, good, then...! I SHALL come over then, some time, sir. I'm rather curious to see this place in Spain; I mean, I've only ever visited Francophone countries, on account of my father's profession...

Well, it is a very good cat...

Wonderful. I look forward to it. And that will be why you don't concern yourself with Bumby's slipping into babbled French on occasion.

Indeed, I think the cat is rather good, isn't it? I mean, I really DO like the cat, rather....

And as for the French -- well, I used to do the same, though -- I doubt I was nearly as fluent as Bumby at that age... Given that I was taught by the One-Parent-One-Language school of thought, and my father -- my papa -- could scarcely stand to be around me as a tot...! I was a terribly loud child, I'm afraid, and thus -- I was a disturbance to him rather, than a joy! Hah...

Hell, I'm not as fluent as him at my age. He's my little translator!
