So I was thinking about maybe taking Steven to the beach. Anybody want to come with us? Maybe do a playdate with the kids? I know that he's not much old, but he really enjoys the company of others.

Aw! Poor ickle Bumby...!

I mean, if you want to stay in and write, Mr Hemingway, I could take him out for a little romp around the beach....

Sure, if you'd like to. I could do with the silence for a short while. Only if it's no trouble to you.

Nay, sir, no trouble at ALL, really! I mean, he's an utter ANGEL -- when he's not ruining your best summer trousers, that is...! Heh! (Sorry again about that by the by... I should have warned you before he started clinging that he had had a slice of chocolate cake.)

It's quite all right, you end up getting covered in much worse than cake when you have a child. I'm fortunately not too fussy about clothes as it happens. Better things to spend money on.

But yes, he seems to have taken a little shine to you, so I'm happy for you to take him out and about if you like. Thank you.

Hah! True enough, sir -- especially when MONEY means NOTHING here, so it seems.

Aw! As have I, to him, really! Taken a shine, I mean to say....

Anyway's well, I'll be right over for him, then. Cheers very much, Mr Hemingway!

I'm glad, really. It's swell to not have to choose between food and heat.

How sweet, I'm glad.

No, thank you! It's good to be able to get a break now and then, no matter how good a child he is.

He's two months. But he does great with other children. He mostly does tummy time but he loves the beach. I think they would be great. It would let me meet some other parents and perhaps as he gets older, Steven can make some new friends.

God, that's so young. It must be difficult to cope with under the circumstances. Did you give birth on this island, or arrive with him?

What's tummy time?

I actually had him back in a place that I was sent here from. It was called Ridgeway Resort. I was supposed to marry his father, but I guess he got freaked out or something cause he got sent back before he was born. So I arrived with him here.

Tummy time is good for a baby. It helps to stretch out their bodies and helps with the process of crawling. You just set them on their stomachs on a soft surface with toys in front of them and let them just explore.

This is not the first place you have been, that is not your "home", so to speak? Perhaps it wasn't his choice.

My wife isn't here, either. Lot of single parents around, it seems. She was the better parent, too.

I see, well that makes sense.

Great! I think it will be a lot of fun too. So how old are your twins?

They aren't mine, though I'm helping Laura with them. She adopted them after their parents passed. They're a year old.

Aww well, that's sweet. And a year old huh? I can't wait until my son turns one. Though I can imagine the time going extremely fast.

Blink and you can miss it, cherish the time you have with him. He'll be grown and out of the house before you know it.

My boys are three months old Tuesday so they're a bit young to understand the whole 'friend' concept but I'll be happy to bring them down to meet your little guy!

That's okay. Steven is only 2 months so he's really at a you g age. But, the beach and water seems to be his favorite thing.
