Catnip...?

Well, I think I may have a little bit left that my kitty-cat didn't actually eat before she... disappeared...!

Why? have you found her? My kitty-cat, that is to say?

Kitty cats do not like to stay in one place.

They are free and independent.

No, no, I definitely get that...! I mean, really, it was more like my kitty-cat owned me than visa-versa... I mean, she'd be in and out of my flat, always, but then... well -- a couple of days ago, she just didn't come back for her milk and her fishies...! I dunno where she is, and I'm... actually a bit worried...! I mean what if she wandered into the forest!? There are all sorts of nasty things that could have EATEN her out there!

Cats aren't stupid either. They know there are bad things in the woods.

Don't worry.

Wait half a sec....!

You know, I wasn't too sure until after I saw your so -- matter-of-fact answer to the elf bloke, but now...

Kitty...? Is that YOU!?

Oh my G-d, what has this crazy island done NOW!?

I hate it too.

I am a kitty.

Aww! My poor kitty-cat...!

I mean, do you-- maybe want some clothes fish, anyway's? I mean, are you nude hungry at all...? I still have your fish, and your 1% milk...! (I'm used to whole, myself, so... i hope you appreciate the sacrifice I've made by keeping 1% in the house instead...!)

I can turn back into a kitty.

Ooh, you CAN!? Really!?? Awesome...! Because really, it would be a little awkward to sleep with you as a human...! No offence intended, of course...

So... does kitty want fishies and milkies, then...?

Aw! Alright, then...! I mean, if you ever want to come back to my apartment, well... you're always welcome in my bed as a cat...! I mean, you're so snuggly and soft and warm...!

What is catnip?

It's just an herb, basically, sir - -valerian root, I think is the technical term, but... well, kitty cats go CRAZY for it, truly...!

Um... let me check on this Google.com thing that Mr Stark introduced me to...!

[Two minutes latter, added:]

Looks like it's also called catmint, nepola cataria, nepetalactone and iridodial (though that last two's just the compounds within the plant, really!) Do any of those strike a chord with you, sir?

Excuse me, sir, but... you aren't cursing at my kitty-cat, are you?

Of course not? Well, sir, let me tell you something...

Or rather, let me ask you something:

Could you translate that Ilanwa bit into the common tongue...?

Aw! But she's not wrong, though, and you mustn't make her feel badly for it... for being so bloody straightforward, you know? She's just a kitty cat, after all...!

[info]thehalfelven

Aye, she is a cat. She is not human though she has a human face and a human body. Animals do not perceive things the same as humans do.

Of course she doesn't...! I mean, please don't be mean to her! I'm asking you this as a human... Please, don't...!

Apologies, I don't understand why you think I am mean to her? I have cared for her occasionally when she permits it.

Aww, have you really? So that's where the little girl goes when she's sick and tired of me...! Ha! I mean, you do know she won't drink whole milk, or even 2% nor completely skimmed, either.....?

I mean, aren't you elves like, vegan, so... where are you getting the milk to feed her, anyway's...?

(Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

[info]thehalfelven

I do not provide her milk, as it were, but with meat. Mostly we talk.

Aw! But my poor little kitty-cat doesn't really seem to like her meat without any milk - but maybe that's just because she knows I KEEP milk in the house, and thus... refuses to go without it? Ha! Cats, really....! I mean, honestly, they are so finicky...!

And.. you talked with her? As a kitty-cat? Really? How, exactly, did you understand her...?

Animals communicate all the time if you have the skill to listen to them. Though I am uncertain if it is a trait limited to elves, as I have known few Men who have exhibited the ability.
