A dragon killed my son.

My husband's terms are far kinder than I would have been. I will not be entirely content until the bests are dead, with their heads mounted on giant pikes.

I believe you have. I do. But if you'd believe me too, we don't have the same myth religion. There are not divinities of Pern.

Pern isn't even on.. the planet called Earth. Our dragons were bred by people to help us.

I have never seen or heard of the planet 'Earth' before coming here. And whatever your world is, and whatever sympathetic tilt you put on the monsters you control, it does not change that they are monsters.

They have been our companions for thousands of years. They're linked to us. Turning on us isn't an option, and the dragons would never consider it.

I am under no delusion, lady, but I think you are the heart of the problem of your people. I think you fear them the most and I think that if you came to understand the dragons as we try to understand your fear of them, we might come to a better solution than ignoring each other on threat of violence.
