Well, apparently there are many of us on the island who are fictional in other universes. I'm not alone in that. I am a real, live person. I have memories and experiences outwith the pages of the book. I remember being a child, I remember my parents, I remember the war, I remember my first kiss and my first fist fight, I remember the taste of cigarettes and alcohol, and I remember learning to sail. These things are not described in my book. I'm as real as anyone.
