My daughter was never so outspoken when she lived in Dol Amroth. She was quiet and respectful. But things change I suppose and I shouldn't fault her for it anymore than I fault the winter for rain.

She has a point, and that is my point here. I have never found relations to be an issue worth discussing in open places. It has always been my policy that if you want to bed a man or woman then you ought to find a willing partner for exactly that.

Such as we have done.

And without issue.

Once you satisfy the basic need then you might actually get things done. But I suppose that is also the nature of children, to be obsessed with the act itself. It must be a novel idea still for so many young minds.

She is her husband's now, and if he does not find fault in what she says, then she is within her rights. And if he does not, it is his place to reprimand her.

I do not see the point of talking of it either. What we have is satisfying and enjoyable, and we bother no one with it. There is no need for anyone to know that you and I share such things. It is not their business.

It must be. I enjoy it very much, for what it is, but there are far more wonderful things.

Indeed. That's why I let it be. They have their lives and I have my own.

More wonderful things. Like talking. Politics.

Politics! I know so little about them, but I do like listening to you talk of them. I will learn what I may, so that I will be more interesting for you to talk to. I do so enjoy our friendship.

Aye, sharing ideas! We come from such different places, it's fascinating to learn what holds our worlds together.

And you are the wisest man I have had the chance to speak to. I love listening to you speak, and learning from your wisdom.

Will you come by tonight?

You have a great many things to teach as well. It's mutual. And yes, I will.

Then I will put on dinner. And tea.

I do not have so much to teach. What I know is little; I have never led a people, or fought in a war.

There's more to life than those things, Briseis. They are a part of the world, yes. But there's so much more.

Perhaps. Regardless, I love hearing your stories, and learning of your world. And speaking of things such as we do. I am glad that you enjoy them too, and that I do not bore you.

I truly enjoy what we have.

I find it interesting that we have been having relations for some time now, and nobody knows. Whereas we hear in detail about everyone else's sexual failures and successes. I would be embarrassed to be so on display.

Exhibitionists. They want the attention or perhaps have nothing interesting to talk about. I don't know.

I brought it up and for that I apologize. But we shouldn't spend so much time on discussing the matter. I won't bring it up in the future.

Oh, I am not upset. I do not mind talking about it with you. That's one thing I like about this. We do talk. We are honest.
