That's not what I'm saying. You had a problem with McLeod taking over- fair enough, you were running the show with Kaya, you deserve a say in it. But now he's stepped down again, and apparently you're having a bloody strop about it and so now no one is running it? I simply ask that you make up your mind so that if you don't want to do it, we can find someone else asap.

Right now, I'm covering for Kaya and her brother. I knew the systems so I'm just trying to keep them going. If people need me to take over full time then I will. I can, but that's not the issue. According to them, I'm a failure and it's my fault, personally, that everyone died. Even the people with flu. So what's the fucking point in me even bothering to step up when they're just gonna throw a hissy fit over it? I'd rather just moan about them while I get on with protecting the people I love in my way.

Why don't you take over? You're the one with the license to kill and the golden gun and pussy galore and so on and so forth. I vote for you. Maybe then people will get the fuck off of my back.

All right, well thank you for the explanation. I was finding it somewhat difficult to follow. I'm sorry that people are blaming you for things that are beyond anyone's control- people need a scapegoat, and a security chief is an easy target, unfortunately. So yes, that's all fair enough.

As for me, I'm just a trigger-puller, I do what I'm told, I'm not exactly leadership material. But my quartermaster is here, too, who may be better equipped for the task, if no one objects.

Between people who know what they're doing. We have a large area to cover and whilst I'm competent in finding some way of surveying weak points in addition to the patrols, but as I said to Mr. McLeod, there are areas I'm not familiar with, such as the supernatural attacks and any warnings relating to them. It's a case of who is willing to give what, how much, and to what extend people are happy to use their skills and have people's skills used.

I realise this sounds like I've thought about this a lot, and you'd be right.

Allow me to list all of the ways your argument is flawed.

1. You are throwing your toys out of the pram like a child without sensibly bringing in an actual solution to the issues you raising.

2. You are arguing with people who come from security related backgrounds as though you are speaking to fellow children.

3. Your mention of our security chief is completely irrelevant for the following reasons:
a) we are not in London
b) we do not have a government
c) we come from completely different times and places which brings in far too many anomolies for us to settle on a similar form of running things.
d) your knowledge of the process of hiring within the British Intelligence is so minimal that the fact you had the audacity to bring it up is laughable.
e) name calling negates any point you have to make. Children name call. Children do not possess the sufficient education and life experience in order to make serious decisions, which is why we have a legal age of voting.
f) that you know what you are saying is going to hurt makes you a dick.

4. You seem to be under the impression that either there are no flaws in the security of the island and so it is pointless in opening the discussion to further parties or you are so self involved and long to be right to the extent that you will put other people in danger in order to maintain the idea that you are right.

5. Kaya is no longer here. McLeod has sufficient expertise in order to arrange an efficient security service. I don't see that as picking someone off of the street.

6. To my knowledge, and as Mr. McLeod as already mentioned, knowledge of the previous security procedures was insufficient to those who would be able to assist. Therefore, any attempts at establishing something are done in ignorance of any existing material, as it has been inadequately publicised, and therefore criticism is moot.

No one blames you, Damon. I realise that you must be feeling as though this is some manner of usurping, throwing you out of the position you had put yourself into in the belief that you failed in your duty, but that isn't the case. And certainly no one blames you for the flu. There was nothing in the world that could be done about that.

I'm sorry for the extent of my above comment, I was no more mature than I accused you of being. You must be feeling threatened and backed into a corner and I can't blame you for the way you're reacting. And understandably you've already put in the work needed to make some kind of security force adapted to our current situation, which is certainly one step ahead of the rest of us.

I apologise. I'm sorry I didn't step back far enough to take into account the way this must seem to you, but I assure you no one intended to step on your toes, especially when you're in a rather vulnerable state. You may deny that all you want, but a lot has happened, a lot of people have died, things you couldn't prevent have had a great impact on us all and it does seem as though the blame is being put on you somewhat, and the punishment is to remove you from the equation due to something you could have no control over.

That was wrong of me. Of us. Is there any room for negotiation?
