Good evening,

My name is Brother Justin Crowe. I am an ordained Minister of the Methodist Church. I understand that many of you have suffered tragic losses recently. It saddens me, as I'm sure it does all of us, to hear of such events. Although I have faith in the continued journey of the departed, I understand all too well how their losses are still felt in the hearts and minds of those who knew them. Therefore, Bro I would like to offer my services as a Minister to any man or woman with a belief in God, no matter their denomination. Both in terms of funeral services for the deceased and guidance and support for the bereaved.

I would also like to extend my hand to anyone who feels they may need support in these trying times. We all deserve an ear that will listen and a shoulder that will share our burden. And do not forget brothers and sisters, we are all in this together.

Your most humble and obedient servant,
The Reverend Justin Crowe.

Much appreciated, Reverend.

You're welcome. It's a pleasure to make your acquaintance, of sorts, Ms Novak. If ever there is anything I can do for you, or those around you, do not hesitate to contact me.

(OOC: I'm sorry for the epic delay. I wound up having a busy few days and decided I really had to rewatch Season 2.)

I will.

Have we met?

Good.

No. I have met very few people since arriving here, something I must remedy. It is all very overwhelming though, and I've taken some time to reflect. But perhaps the time for reflection is over. Things seem quite unstable here. It's not only the beasts that fight one another. Is it always so volatile, or is their presence here fanning the flames, so to speak?

If you mean the Wyverns, or whatever, then no. Things have boiled over a few times even before the creatures arrived. But then, we all have our inner turmoil, don't we?

Yes, the wyverns. I've never seen anything like them. In flesh, I mean. But that we do. I suppose I'm just not used to seeing people air it so publicly.

I'm sure you're not the only one who feels there is a dearth of tact in this place, but what can you do? It's the age of over-sharing.

Something I'm going to have to get used to, I imagine. Not that I'm completely unaccustomed to knowing people's thoughts or opinions. But self-publishing didn't quite exist in the same way where I'm from.

Maybe we shouldn't have to "get used to it." I mean, just because we have the freedom to do whatever we please doesn't mean that we should.

How tolerant of people, that are different, are you, Reverend? Are we going to have to worry ab

I would say I am quite tolerant. I have taken people others wouldn't dream of under my wing and helped them find purpose in this the world. But, please, speak plainly Miss Walker. What is it you fear I'll do?

Last Reverend I came across was trying to wipe out an entire race of people. All because we were different. Probably more different than you'd be used too.

Well, let me put your mind at ease right now. I have no intention of wiping out any particular group of people. We are all children upon this earth. Or were.

If you'll pardon me, it's a little strange to see any man of god say something like that about my kind. I don't know if it's off putting or just simply feels weird.

What is your kind, then? If you don't mind my asking.

I'm a mutant. Of the shape shifting type, every one is generally too different to have a type in one way or another, but there are enough that change form that we do have a type.

Forgive me the confusion, but do you mean the type in traveling freak shows?

Nope. I wouldn't put myself on display like that. I don't know anyone like me that would. People were trying to kill us, that would be like painting the target on for them and sitting still for the aim.

How exactly do you shift your shape?

I just kinda... Do? It was involuntary at first. Now it just takes focus and a lot of shifting of bone senue and flesh.

Oh, no. I actually shift into something rather large and not human looking.

I see. I can understand how that might upset my kind. It is, in essence, the embodiment of the idea that the devil and his servants can take on many guises.

I knew a demon or two on the train that kidnapped us, they looked human. Even Lucifer himself was kidnapped. And he looked human. I change shape into a Mountain Lion. But other's of my kind do different things. That doesn't make us evil, it just makes us different.

The train that kidnapped you? I have no doubt you look human the majority of the time yourself, but at least it's not a serpent. All men are evil, Miss Walker. I believe you've seen that.

Yes, before some of us were brought here we'd been taken by a train first. If I told you about it you probably wouldn't believe me. Though this place makes people believe in the weirder than weird.

Actually I don't believe that. I believe all men are capable of bad things. But not all men do those bad things. No matter how much bad has been done to them.

[info]the_usher
2013-02-13 05:13 am UTC (link)
I can see how it might do that.

I am not saying there is no good in man. But despite what men may or may not do, the desire to still burns in the heart of every one of us. You'd be surprised by what constitutes a man's greatest sin against God - even acts seen as being those of great kindness can be sinful, evil. Man can sin without even realizing it.

If you keep an open mind, you learn to shrug off that there's a purple cow chewing at the bits of exposed grass in the snow outside your window.

What sin is that?

Somehow a purple cow seems one of the least perplexing things about this place.

A specific sin of a specific man.

Oh, there's stranger things out there, that's for sure. But you probably wont see them everyday. The cow, on the other hand, has been domesticated. Unless, of course, you start wondering what everyone is. That just might drive you a little crazy.

There's one little thing you're forgetting Reverend: God knows men are sinners. That's why he sent one of his most beloved Angels to live as one, and die for our sins.
