To people who are aged under 18,

Ten day countdown starts now. Exciting school times are ahead, starting August 24. Richie, get your complaining over and done with in these ten days.

To adults who know things,

If you want to help teach (any age, not just under 18s or little kids), get in touch with Tommy Sully. Or myself, although I'll just pass everything on to Tommy anyway. We can work out details (like subject, times, etc) later.

If you want to continue teaching, good.

-Miguel O'Hara and Tommy Sully

We have school here, too?!

Are there any history classes?

You're new. And yes, we have school here too.

There are no history classes here, no. We'd probably be fighting over whose version of history would be taught. There are people from all kinds of different worlds and times here. Before I came here, it was the year 2099. But Adam who teaches French, he's from the late 1700s. And my sister-in-law's boyfriend isn't even from Earth, so his history lessons would be completely new to everyone.

That said, we have a lot of books and data files from a shockload of different places. I'm sure we could work something out if you want a history class.

I am, nice to meet you, Dr. O'Hara!

I'm actually excited to go to school here, no Henry Bowers or other bullies to taunt or tease me is a plus! I'd like to take any classes that there are! History is just what I like to learn the most. I was kinda hoping there would be a history class for this station. This place is really cool, and I'd like to know more about it!

It's nice to meet you too.

I'm glad you're here. The guys missed you. My uncle Dan teaches a really cool class. Did they tell you about it?

No, they haven't, I think the last thing on their minds right now is classes. What kind of class is it?

It's a class in telepathy.  Different people have different kinds of telepathy.  I call ours mine the shine or shining.  Sometimes I call it magic too.

Oh, okay! I've been trying to practice mine, but I mostly just get a kind of buzzing in my head. The guys say that normal since I'm a "newbie." I can't wait to start class and meet your uncle!

Cool!  I wasn't sure if they had told you about shining yet.  I just got back from being old.

It'll get easier and then when we get new students, you can call them newbies.

Thanks, Ben.

I'm sure we could arrange something about the history of the station and this area of space in general.

I would like that, but you don't have to do that. I'm sure there is a library where I can read about it, right?

I stand by where I was before. I would love to teach the youth any subject that would like to learn... Consider my lesson their electives.

I'm sharing this with Tommy.

What subjects are you best at? What do you want to teach? "Everything" doesn't help.

Bear in mind, Johnn, this isn't a run-of-the-mill high school so other than the English and Math classes (which are covered), everything is an elective.

I believe I was going to pick up computer science and technology for adults.

That is fair. I am more than willing to teach most subjects. Between what I know, and how easily I can learn other subjects, there is not much I can not teach.

I would like to argue that we should get a retroactive summer vacation starting now,, since the grown ups took ours.

I fucking agree with Richie.

Plus, it's our first summer here. My first summer without my mom around to tell me I'm allergic to grass and other shit stuff that's not even true. I should get more summer.

Plus, we just got Ben. We need more summer with him.

There's a surprise

Moms aren't the best, unless they're here, I know that. But do you normally get more of something when it's the first time it happens? I don't think that's how it works.

Ben's very excited about school and seems to be looking forward to it. He's suggested an extra class. And you'd be with him in classes. And after classes, and between classes, and before classes.

What about when shit gets stolen from you?   The old dudes took most of my summer and now you're taking the rest.  School isn't supposed to start until September.  After labour day.

Can we talk and ride bikes and hang out in classes?   Or play baseball?  My mom never let me play baseball either, just catch the foul balls.

My school was very different than yours, which is why I'm asking these questions. I didn't get long vacations.

You could play baseball if there was a baseball class.

Then you missed out. You should do some fun shit stuff too.

That's supposed to be a part of gym class/phys. ed. But that's where kids get bullied and hit on the head with dodge-balls.

Nobody here's going to bully anyone or hit them on the head with dodge-balls, Eddie.

Ride a bike. And go swimming and have a chicken fight in the water.

Yeah. I don't think we have a gym class.

You would have had 17 days on August 24, which is roughly two and a half weeks.

Delaying classes to October 16 (ten weeks from when you posted on the network about being young again) isn't exactly viable.

Oh, I support this notion, Miguel. We can leave the Monday for house chores. Start at 9, finish at 5. That might be a little longer than a regular school day but there is a lot that needs to get done.

I understand that. But school cannot wait for individual people here. Then we would probably never have school.

Work hard now and if you all keep up nicely, I'll allow you to take a day off. But you cannot make all of school wait for you. Sadly, too much here happens for it to be a viable option. And you will not have to do any house chores till the autumn break so you have more free time. How does that sound?
