I thought I'd let everyone know I'll be opening up shop in wheel 2 soon. I mainly work with Atlantean metals but I'm learning how to work with more common materials too. I'll mostly be making weapons and armour but I can work on other things if requested.

I've found a decent space to use, but there's still some things I need in order to set everything up. Can anyone help? I have some of my old tools from home but I don't have all of the different materials I would need to really get started.

Cheers.

You know how to work with Atlantean metals?

I do. Why?

It's just an uncommon thing in the world I came from. Even the homo magi just use magic as the actual crafting can sometimes be too complex and fiddly.

It's not very common where I'm from either. Well not anymore. Not since the fall of Atlantis, but as it turns out I'm originally from there. Or rather, my soul is.

It probably isn't the same Atlantis, but I'm descended from Calculha god of light and his wife Majistra goddess of darkness through their son Ahri'ahn who now calls himself Arion the Immortal. I practice some of their magic, if you need magical help.

I'm not sure. It might not be, those names aren't familiar to me but I'm still trying to get all my memories back. It's a somewhat long process so far but I've gained quite a lot of memories since I came back to life a couple of years or so ago.

What sort of stuff do you need? I got stockpiles of all kinds of crap from going through all the abandoned things on the station. You're welcome to dig through those if you want.

Gold, iron, silver, mercury, just for starters.

If you can help, that would be brilliant. Where should I go to have a look?

Metals, yeah. I got four apartments I'm using for storing metals, they're [directions]. I've sorted what I could, but there's a hell of a lot of weird shit. And I add more almost every day.

Thanks, mate. You're a lifesaver. As payment, I'll happily make something for you. Just name it.

As long as the design is fairly simple. I'm working on more intricate designs. What do you want?

I need to know your price for a commissioned sword, far less fancy than the last one you made for me.

Price? I'll be honest, hadn't really thought of prices given the way the station seems to work. But I can make a sword for you. What type of sword?

This one would be used for fighting, if I needed to, would you be able to replicate my old sword?

Beyond that I give you artistic freedom. And free access to the IOU booze for life, if I didn't do that already.

The offer is appreciated but I've been trying to drink less. Used to be an alcoholic. I still drink every now and then but not as much as I used to be. Dad used to call me a "piss-head".

I'll start work on your sword as soon as I can.

Oh! Have you joined my son-in-law's club? They are people trying to get off the drink.

Thank you so much Dan. I will find away to repay you.

I've actually been. It's helped.

Let's see what you think of the sword first.

I do not doubt your skills.

I'm glad it does.

Shouldn't I be thanking you?

Oh, I forgot to add one important fact. I am human now, I don't know how that would factor into your sword making but figured it's important.

Yes. Because immortality can get cumbersome and I needed some hope. As to how, a very dear friend-I would even chance to call him my best friend- is a genius at creating spells and working magic.

It's an odd thing to want, I know, but all I've seen... I don't want to live long enough to see it again.

Got any tips for someone who's only just realised they are immortal over the last few years?

It might seem like a good idea to stick to yourself, but it's not. Even if you outlive the people you care about, care about them, love them, and mourn them. Help those who need help, however you can. Because there are things that will help you live the long years when you do. If you can have children, have them, if you can't, adopt them... they too make life worthwhile. And no matter who thinks your evil, never fall prey to their thoughts of you, keep to what you think is good, to what feels right to you.

And since you can, be sure to test and savor every sort of cuisine you can, from drinks, to food, because it might not be there in a century.

Never really saw myself as the sort to have kids, especially after my divorce.

I appreciate the advice, though. Thank you.

It might take you a few years more for you to have any sort of hankering. Maybe even a century or two. It wasn't until the Black Plague that I had any want to care for more, that weren't my flesh and blood.

You're very welcome.
