Well, I was hoping I'd be back to my right age by the time this came up but there's no point in the shop going to waste.
Thanks to the door, and lots of help from John and my Dad, the grand opening of a new cafe in the food court will be tomorrow.
I'll have all the basic coffee drinks, plus a few fancy ones. Drip coffee ready to go, plus pour overs if you want something fancy, as well as lattes, cappuccinos, flavored drinks, iced coffee and some of those blended frozen crazies. For the non-coffee drinkers, there's a variety of hot and iced tea, hot chocolate, chai lattes, and milkshakes. Along with the drinks I'll have a few different pastries, cookies and other sweets, both breakfast and lunch sandwiches on fresh-made bread, along with full loaves of bread you can take home too every day. If you have any requests, just let me know, I'm willing to try and figure things out if I don't already know how to make it. I open at 5 a.m. and go home when I run out of food for the day, but you're welcome to come in and make yourself some coffee anytime.
There's a stage in the back of the shop, if anyone ever wants to come in and perform anything. And we used to do cocktail hours/open mike nights every few weeks, so if there's interest in that I can work on setting that up too.
It's called Colors. For Steve.
[OOC: if anyone wants to know the shop is cozy but not small enough to be crowded, the front wall is all glass and there's no door, just an opening to walk through. Inside it's all warm colors, dark woods and copper. On one wall is a large mural of a sunrise or sunset (you decide) painted by Steve. In the back is a small stage with microphone and small amp. Most of the tables are small, with 2 chairs each, but there's one large one in the center of the shop that can be shared. Off to one side is a service counter, one side an open countertop for taking/delivering orders, the other side is a large display case. Behind the counter there is a large coffee machine, an espresso machine, some blenders and display baskets for bread. There are refrigerators under all of the counters. In one free corner there's a small bookshelf with a 'take one, leave one' sign, and in another is a playpen with a few toys and kids' art table.)
