I'm starting up a new round of classes, so that I have something to do while my machines are running samples. I found a classroom near Tommy's lecture theater. It's not as big, but it's got enough desks for 15 people to show up and have seats, and a decent projector, and it's now compatible with Lyla. And since I'm going to be doing the teaching, it will have coffee.

I can teach basic and advanced science classes (biology, chemistry and physics), and genetics right up to doctorate level. Probably some engineering, basic robotics, coding and math as well, although that'll be more free-form than the stuff I've actually previously taught (the science bits) and therefore have lessons planned for, and I get the feeling I'd be stepping on people's toes if I did that.

[Location of new classroom]

I'll be there for at least two hours every day starting tomorrow, from 1400hrs on. If nobody shows up, I'll read and drink coffee with my feet up on the desk. If people do show up, I'll teach you something.

Sign up below if you're interested, with what you're interested in.

And maybe also helping to interpret some of these medical textbooks I've been reading?

What?

Oh, the ones I brought back? Yeah, sure, but I can do that at a different time.

Okay. They're very interesting.

I won't know everything, I'm not a medical doctor. That said, Lyla's got copies of everything I brought back in her databanks and I'm pretty certain she can cross-reference all the different texts so we should be able to work a lot of things out with her help.

I'd really like to get a better understanding of the science behind those plant studies you're doing.

Not a problem.

My scientific and mathematical education ends at the 12th century. Other than these devices of course.

We can stick to the relevant information if that helps.

Well, I'm hardly likely to teach anyone irrelevant information.

What I meant is that I have an interest in chemistry but not necessarily biology.

Then I can teach you chemistry.

Would a physics lesson help with my archery?

That depends on what the physics lesson is covering. I don't think learning about radiation or the refractive index of different materials will do too much to improve anyone's archery skills.

If you're thinking more about "If I draw the bow with this force and aim the arrow at this angle, I should reach a target at this location at this speed," then theoretically, yes it would help a little, but if you're already a skilled archer then I would imagine that that sort of thing becomes second nature to you and that practice with the bow would be much better. That said, I'm happy to teach you the physics/math required if you want.

That depends how basic the basic sciences can be made. I should like to know more, but I’m afraid I have a ridiculous amount of catching up to do.

That guy that replied before you says he hasn't learned anything past the 12th Century. So I think you're well ahead of him.

I can teach you, don't worry.

Thank you. I should like that very well.

Let me know if you want some exciting bedtime reading. I've got a tablet here with textbooks on it, and you can have it if you want.

Of course I don't.

I gave Ashley a tablet for Christmas, full of novels and books. Remember? The thing that's like a bigger phone.

Don't feel silly. We're both men out of time, still trying to adapt to this time period, with the added complications of "Space Station". There are a lot of things that confuse me because they're so shocking old compared to what I'm used to.

Okay. I'll come round later and drop it off. I'll show you how to use it, and give you a list of books/chapters to read.

I have an interest in the sciences, particularly biology, although my knowledge is that of the early 19th Century. I would certainly be interested in learning more, and discovering something about the advances that have undoubtedly been made since then.

I should add that I do have partial sight now, which should make matters easier.

I need to talk to you about number 10. I've been doing a lot of reading... I'm sure I'd pass a test or three million (I do love tests but not as much as I love you). Also there might be groundwork for a thesis.

Also, I know we spend a lot of time together, but could you use a TA? Perhaps a Dr. Sparkles? Or is Lyla your TA?
