I think I've just... skipped a week. Did anything more strange than usual happen, or was it just me?

Were you sleeping like the other people?

I didn't even consider that. Possibly?

Well, do you feel like you've just woken up?

Not really. Time hopping is a regular occurrence for me.

Oh, okay. That's gotta be weird.

Aye, it was at first. I'm used to it, now. Just a week isn't bad, and no mad premonitions or groundhog day shite as far as I can tell, so I'll take it.

I don't like premonitions. I've only had a couple, but they left me second-guessing myself for ages.

Are you feeling okay now?

Ah, then you know what I mean. They really do, and I've found that trying to 'fix' things before they happen often just creates an even bigger mess to contend with. Still never seem to learn, though.

Aye, I'm fine, thank you.

Exactly, yeah.

I'm Greg, by the way.

Good to meet you, brother. I'm Desmond.

Nothing particularly unusual. I think you just shifted a bit again.

Probably just a sort of settling in period since it was a big shift in place as well.

Food, mostly.

I can bring it to you if you like.

[Desmond]

My older sister Sarah has disappeared.

You don't need to trouble yourself. That's not saying I wouldn't appreciate it if you did, but not if it's a bother.

[Sean]

I'm sorry to hear that. Do you want to talk about it?

It's not a bother.

[Desmond]

I didn't know her well, I'm mainly worried about my dad.

If you're sure.

[Sean]

It's never easy when loved ones disappear. All you can do is remind him that you are there for him, and offer a little help and understanding.

I'm very sure.

He has a large support network but he's also extremely stubborn. I'm hoping he'll accept offered help.

I know what you mean. Is there anything that can be done that he wouldn't have to ask for?

There are a few people already helping with the household chores. I offered to help, too.

I can only hope that he and Bucky at least talk to each other about it instead of holding everything in.

They've been best friends for most of their lives so if either of them is going to talk to someone, it'll be each other.

Any clue as to what that is?

Like unconscious people.

I have a few ideas, yeah. I'm not sure how much I've explained about myself to you so far. Not very much?

Sarah Sully is going to help me try to figure it out. You're welcome to come along. It might be advisable, actually. For me, not you.

You want to work on your bedside manner, Kat. I did know about that, though I didn't know that there were still some people 'sleeping'. Wondered at first if it was related, but doesn't look like it after all.

I think it is better if you remind me.

I'm happy to come along. Distraction will do me good anyway.

My bedside manners? Do you know how rude it is to fall asleep like that and not wake up again?

It's such a bloody long story, but I'll try to keep it fairly brief.

I was stuck on an island similar to the island we were on together. I was isolated for a number of years, but told that I had to repeatedly enter a code into a computer to stop some kind of whole world disaster. I believed it, because the one time I didn't manage to get it entered on time, it caused a rip in the fabric of time and space, and let through a plane load of people who were then stuck there too. (I think that same plane crashed on your island at some point).

Some time later, I explained this to some of the survivors. We ended up taking shifts, there became some disagreement, some idea that this was all fake, it was mind control, some sort of game, and one of the men smashed up all of the equipment to prove his point. He was very, very wrong. I had a fail-safe key. Entering the code caused a small about of radiation and electromagnetic energy to be released at a time, the fail-safe key would just blow the whole thing wide open.

Cleared the area as far as actually possible, some people were too stubborn, some just were unlucky. I turned the key, bright white flash, and when it stopped it was about ten years earlier. I've been able to speak to a number of experts since then, people who were researching time travel, people with an interest in that particular island, some of the people who actually worked for the research team who set up these computers and stations on that island. Intense radiation or electromagnetic activity can cause rips in space/time, and because I was at the centre of the blast radius, I became unstuck in time. One of them claimed that I am now the fail-safe, but I hope to hell that never actually has to mean anything again.

And yes, this is the short version.

Thank you. I've mentioned it to Sarah.

It is a little rude. Do you need anything?

Another shift? I always wondered what it must be like constantly jumping around in time.

I wish I had more control over it, but for now I'll just have to assume that it's all for a reason and it'll make sense in retrospect.

Sorry, I think you've met me and I haven't met you yet.

Oh yeah, sorry. I'm a time traveler too, but so far it's only been the one jump not counting turning little again for a while. I'm Addie Sully, Elyssa and JR's youngest.

I wouldn't say I know you well, but we've met before on my end.

Oh, interesting. Did you chose to time travel, or did it just happen?

Nice to meet you then, Addie. Maybe we'll get to know each other a little better in this time.

[info]needforspeed

Nope, I didn't. So far it's only been my Aunt Sarah who's the deliberate time traveler in the family. My siblings TK and Ashley are here too, and my cousins Greg and Alex, but those last two are from the future where things didn't work out on the island.

Strange, isn't it? Another place where unintentional time travel seems commonplace.

They're from a future where things didn't work out? So being brought to this reality was something of a blessing?
