Well that's how it seemed to work on the island. And I had a history of putting a foot in my mouth.

Then again I never wished to know what combat was like and got more than I ever wanted to know. So maybe I'm just the chew toy of my generation.

A chew toy is a toy bone or a ball or some other thing that you give a dog and let them play with it, chew on or slobber all over it.

Yeah exactly like what Mouse does, only for something with unlimited power over what it can do to you and a vivid imagination.

Really? Not even dogs and cats? Not someplace I'd want to live.

Yeah it is, but I can't complain too much. Without those experiences I never would have caught Elyssa's eye I'm sure.
