I found this wee thing running about the parks. Collar and lead on, as if it's run off from some owner. Anyone?

Doesn't look familiar to me.

Think he may be as lost as the rest of us.

Maybe he could use a good home.

Aye, he just needs a little love, I think.

And I think that you'd be the perfect person to give him that love. If you want, of course.

Aww, well thanks lass. Sure, I want to. I can never resist a wee face like that.

Isn't he just? Apparently his name is Toby.

Maybe he'd like to meet Rosie.

Maybe we could take them to the beach together?

I don't remember anyone mentioning a Toby. I don't know who owns him.

If no one claims him, and you don't want him, I'll gladly take him off of your hands. Or her.

I dinna mind, I have a lot of land and animals. You'd be welcome to walk him and that, if you like.

I did too, um back in Virginia I had a lot of dogs. But I'll come walk him for you, if you don't mind.

Aye? Sounds pleasant- I've always been more for horses, but ended up gathering more and more animals to me, I suppose. You'd be most welcome, if it would be enjoyable for you, remind you of home and that.

I'm up at the mill. I would ask that you don't go into the actual mill on your own mind, it's not the safest place.

I picked up stray dogs, cleaned them up, and had them vaccinated. I had seven. It would be very enjoyable, I think.

Oh, of course. I like my head where it is.

That's right kind of you. You can say a lot about a man by the way he treats animals, I think.

I think Abigail would like to come with you.

I find that animals are often better than people. They don't judge without reason.

I'd like that too.

True enough. And I do tend to trust my horses if they take a dislike to a person - as you say, there will be a reason.

Great, well you're both welcome any time.

Me too, or my dogs anyway. They always let me know when someone with bad intentions was on the property.
