She'll never learn not to mess with the cat.

That's adorable.

Now she's crawling around after the cat, trying to catch it.

Hopefully she won't catch it.

I doubt it, that cat is quicker than a toddler and can make itself vanish. Mouse ironically can't catch the cat.

The cat will teach her soon enough. Even the most well tempered kitty has a breaking point.

She does look adorable though.

She's a quick learner, though I hope the cat doesn't scratch her.

I think it's her little feet that make it so adorable

The cat still has front claws? I would imagine one swat across the nose or hand would be all it takes.

Well that is why I am keeping a close eye on her, Izzy.

I didn't mean to imply otherwise Peggy.

Thank you. Besides, it's inhumane to de-claw a cat.

I agree, but I saw it all the time back home.

She adores the thing. It changes colour and shape quite a lot and we're trying to use it to teach her things

Changes color and shape? That's pretty exciting.

Yes, she's uh... a magical cat, I think is the closest I can explain it. Adores Mouse but does not like being followed by her relentlessly.

Yeah, on this island, I really don't think much could surprise me. Did you find her here?

They're loving, but independent. I suppose it's part of the charm.

Yes, she was found here and given to us, actually. Her favourite place is the kitchen table at 1.30pm in summer when the sunlight hits it.

Much lower maintenance than the dog, I have to say.

That is very specific, but I can't argue with it either. Cat's got taste.

Yeah, that's true. You have a dog as well? It must be a very full house.

Well, we have 2 kids aged nearly 3 and nearly 1, five chickens, two dogs and a cat. It's a full house, really.

Maybe I should put some more complicated safety locks on the cabinets...

Though the cat looks surprisingly normal today.

You know that if you did she'd have them off in five minutes anyway. Remember when we upgraded her cot? She still managed to get out of it.

I think it likes blending in, you know.

I'm pretty sure she was watching me put the last ones in, didn't realize it til I was done.

Now and then at least. She was polka dotted last night.

You know you need to be careful about that, she's very much like you: doesn't like a challenge she can't get win. Also stubborn but that's from both of us.

Remember the phase when Mouse was born and she matched the onesies we put her in?

They are, I can't believe Mouse will have her first birthday soon. Time flies, I suppose. Kitty adores Mouse, though, as much as a cat can.

By shutting her in cupboards?

(Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

[info]sergeant_barnes

Yeah, the cupboards are the best place to hide after all, and Mouse can't exactly close the door while she's in there she'd get her fingers.

[info]offthepeg

I remember when my Kytana was that age. She loved to chase the temple cats, they were very good at disappearing when they'd had enough attention.

Stevie's doing the same to his dog. And the chickens. Both of them love chasing, now that I think about it. I guess they just have so much energy to use.
