Why hello there. I'm very well, thank you. Settled in nicely.

Why is your name in this thing also Steve Rogers?

That's good. I know it can be a bit much for some people.

Should have expected you to notice. It's complicated. But uh, this place, sometimes it will pull the same person more than once, from different parts of their life.

You know me best, honey. I take things in my stride.

I'm going to get a headache figuring this all out.

That's why I didn't want to bring it up last night.

I know it's a lot. I can try to explain it all but...magic is usually the easiest way to think about it.

I missed you mama.

Magic. I took you to a magic show when you were a baby, maybe seven months old. You didn't like it so much, actually, and fussed the whole time.

I missed you too, Steve. You're always my baby.

I didn't like it much when I first got here either. But... it's turned out pretty good for me too.

I love you. I never told you that enough.

What have you been doing here all this time?

I love you too, honey. Don't ever doubt that I knew.

I work on the farm sometimes. We don't always know when fresh food is available so we grow a lot of our own. But, mostly I try to spend time with my family.

I know. I just always wished I'd told you more.

Your family? You have a family? Like.. children?

Yeah ma. Two, with another one coming that we just found out about yesterday.

Sorry. But they're amazing kids. And you'll love Peggy. And Bucky is...Bucky, he hasn't changed too terribly.

It's wonderful darling, I'm so happy you found a girl who gave you what you always wanted and deserved. What are their names?

Bucky will never change and he shouldn't. Such a charming boy

The older one is Stevie, he just turned 3. Technically, he's another version of me but he showed up here as a baby and we took him in. Then the little girl, she's, well she's Sarah. But we call her Mouse most of the time.

Stevie is here again too, in his 20s and just married.

You called her Sarah, really?? Oh my goodness.

Most people assume it's about 2015.

Course I did, between you and her own mama, there's no one else I'd rather have my daughter look up to.

Doesn't anyone keep track?

I love you so much, this is wonderful. When can I meet them all?

Well yeah, but it's kinda hard. Everyone comes from different places and times. There're people from the 1800's and some from hundreds of years in the future. Generally we agree it's 2015, but there's not really any way to be totally sure.

Any time you like ma, we have a little cottage out on the edge of town, plenty of room for a visit.

How strangely... wobbly the concept of time truly is.

You might need to draw me a map. I'm not used to walking more than a couple blocks for what I need.

It's a little funny. But you kind of get used to it.

I could show you? If you'd like.

I'll be over whenever you're ready.

And, about the marriage thing...it's a little bit um, unconventional.

Unconventional?

What on earth do you mean? You're a bigamist?

[info]captain_srogers

Not technically. We all got married the same time. If anything it'd be polygamy. But it's just the three of us, and we're equals in it.

Yeah. We all are. I'm not sure any of us could be this happy without things the way they are.

We really are mama. We love each other, we love the babies. We take care of each other. They're my family, and if it weren't for them, I would have lost myself a long time ago.

Mind if I bring Mouse too? she likes walks on warm days like this.

I learned from the best.

She can, not too far yet, so I'll probably end up carrying her most of the way. She'll definitely want to try on her own though.

She sounds rather a lot like you. Fiercely determined not to let anything stop her from being like everyone else.

Peggy says that too. She's real good for her age, just needs to catch up on talking.
