Sirius and I enjoyed it very much when you came to visit, and I do find myself in need of a distraction from unpleasant things. Would you and Mrs O'Hara and Harri care to visit us for lunch on Saturday? I shall say that it won't be a lavish affair, as I haven't any help with the kitchen, but there will be tea and sandwiches and you can see the new herbology garden.

P.S. Mouse is welcome too, naturally.
[For Rawdon]
Mr Crawley,
Have you seen the latest news? It proves a point that I made to you directly. The one sort of social event I might actually enjoy and be well-prepared for, and I cannot possibly attend. I shan't suffer the absolute ignominy of being sent off at eight o'clock with the infants, as if I were wholly unfit for adult company. It is one thing for my father to declare that I must depart from an event at a certain hour, and quite another for a would-be host to demand it. These people have no sense of hospitality at all.
Would you be able to meet the night after? I thought that if you were not opposed to the notion, I could take you up on the broomstick to sit on a high roof for a time. It is a fine place for drinks and cards when the stars are out, and I know warming spells to keep us comfortable.
Sincerely, A.C. Black
[For Ben]
Hanscom,
It was splendid to meet you properly at Miss Katarin Tavehi's seminar, and I must thank you again for your kindness towards Sirius upon his arrival. It was a very alarming thing for the poor little chap to go through, and I daresay you made it somewhat easier.
I am writing as the pair of us found a sturdy wooden boat in one of the storerooms here. I haven't been boating in a long time, and I thought it might make a fine outing to take it out on the river. Would you like to join us? I will take care of all the propelling and navigational spells and the like, so you needn't worry about that.
