[Text messages to Bryn]

>> I've finished that sword you asked for.

[In a attachment beneath the message is a picture of a one handed viking sword. The blade is crafted from a strong, dark metal. There are ripples in the metal, creating paler tones in wavy lines against the dark of the metal. The metal has been folded and tempered and treated with great care, with runes engraved down the flat of the blade. One side is written in Atlantean. The other is written in Nordic runes. The runes read - "Through fire, we are made stronger". The handle of the blade has been wrapped in dark red leather, and the guard, albeit small, as well as the pommel, have been crafted from a pale golden metal. The guard has been decorated in intertwining and overlapping knotwork made from both the dark metal and the golden coloured metal. Raw emerald chips have been placed at the centre of each overlapping pattern. There are 7 small roughly cut emeralds in total on the guard.
The pommel has been left fairly simple with runes etched into the metal. One for Loki. One for Thor. And new ones to represent Dan and Brenna.]

>> The pictures don't really do it justice. I'm actually quite proud of this one. I hope you like it.

Oh Dan! This is exquisite. It is almost too beautiful to use.

Almost.

I'm glad you like it. Now I just hope the happy couple does too.

I'm sure they will. Would it be alright if I came by to test the weight?

If you're not too busy I'll come by later.

Do I have to do anything differently to care for it, than my own sword?

Not particularly. The blade is made from Adamant so it will never rust. It doesn't dull easily so it's easy to keep sharp and it's near enough unbreakable. Same goes for the dagger I made for you. Just keep the blades clean like you would any other.

So it's less maintenance, that is a good thing.

Exactly. How's the weight of your dagger? I forgot to ask.

It's perfect! I've used it to put several random holes in the wall. Through the to the metal. If anything it could be too sharp. But is there really any such thing?

Why did you do that?

I was checking the balance, I've found it easiest to throw daggers.

Maybe I should have made throwing daggers.

All daggers can be thrown, you just have to fling them hard enough.

Touché.

Anyway the holes give the wall character or something. If I get tired of it I will replace the wood covering.

Yes, as soon as I can get my grandson to settle down, I'll come.
