Not everyone. I've only been on the station for a little while but I was actually born into a similar situation. It was an island. So I've been in places like this my whole life.

Oh yeah. And you can actually travel to the nearby planets, too. There are a few that are human friendly. But I've been all over the world through the doors. And in lots of different times.
