WHO Everyone
WHAT Post-death, post-trauma, post-excitement party to blow off some steam for everyone on the base
WHEN Forward-dated to Saturday June 16th (night)
WHERE Leisure rooms, etc (if people wander off).
RATING Please mark your threads if they start to veer into mature territory

In the wake of the tragedies at Limbo, the party had seemed extremely trivial – maybe even a little inappropriate. But since everything had already been ordered, and people seemed to need something to cheer them up now more than ever, Amber and Chloe had forged ahead, and spent the entire Saturday decorating, preparing, baking, and arranging. By the time they were done with the leisure rooms, they were decked out with multi-coloured lights and cheeky neon signage, tables overflowing with snacks, baked goods, soda and water bottles, tubs full of ice that were brimming with all kinds of liquor, and speakers blasting decidedly very upbeat music meant to inspire fellow residents to shake off their troubles (if possible) and dance.

C1 (the entertainment room) skewed blue and purple. The gaming consoles were left hooked up, in case anyone wanted to get into some drunk Mario Kart battles in-between all the massive amounts of tasty snacks set up around the room. C2 (the movie theatre) had films set up for the entire night and a table full of beer and coolers prepared inside -- people would be able to happily enjoy Animal House, The Hangover, 21 Jump Street, Wedding Crashers, Oldschool and Superbad into the wee hours of the morning. C3 (the old fashioned game room) leaned towards a red motif -- all kinds of low lighting and much gentler music to allow people to talk and enjoy mellower company. And, of course, there remained plenty of floor space in case anyone decided to break out Twister. C4 (activity suite) was transformed into the closest thing to a club they could manage within their means and had the most impressive speaker system, leaving plenty of room for people to dance. C5 (the laser tag room) was decked out for karaoke -- assuring that anyone who wanted to embarrass themselves in public absolutely could, all with the benefit of some beautiful, bright yellow spotlights.

[OOC: this is posted ahead to give you more time to play the event out before it passes in real time. Everyone who lives, works, etc. at the facility would be able to stop into this thing at any point. Have fun!]

"Last I checked it was called beer, gingersnap," Simon shot back with a smirk. "You want some?" He offered, tipping his cup in offering to his younger sister. He knew that their mother would frown on it but she wasn't here and what kind of big brother would he be if he didn't at least offer?

He'd sought out the more mellow atmosphere of the red room as the club scene which would have normally been his first touch hadn't really interested, not tonight anyways.

Maybe later, maybe not.

She'd half hoped he'd been on something a little stronger, because she hadn't get gotten to the point where she could confidently walk up to the drinks table and pour something for herself without someone questioning her age. She didn't want to be that kid, but she felt like she needed something other than sipping soda all night.

What, exactly, could happen since they were in a contained space with all these people? No one really struck her as the handsy perv type, and if anyone did try that she was sure other people would stop it. So. "Yeah, I do." Beer was still alcohol and she still got some semblance of trying things in clubs she shouldn't be at, so to speak.

It wasn't anything great anyway, a little yeasty on the taste but she supposed people got used to that. "You drink this for enjoyment?"

Stronger was definitely to come but Simon liked to start his drinking with beer to give his stomach to work with before he started hitting up the hard liquor. He knew a little something about hangovers from hell and would preferably like to avoid that at all costs.

"Sorta," he shared with a chuckle as he took a further sip. "Mostly I use it before or after chasing spirits and generally speaking everybody drinks beer so it's a good way of getting talking to people."

He nodded out into the population. "How you enjoying the evening?"

God, everyone drank this? As what, the lead up to more booze? It seemed a little weird to start with beer and then go to spirits, like having ice cream and switching to cake, but then she wasn't exactly knowledgable on the drinking front, so if that's what they did.

"Okay, I mean, it seems stupid to start with something then move to something else. But okay." If that was how it worked she'd get a beer first, no one would look at her weird if she just got a beer.

"It's okay," she shrugged lightly, swaying a little back and forth on the spot, "They're watching The Hangover next door and it's just gross out humour." Once she'd seen it once it sort of stopped being funny, if it even was the first time. And she wasn't friendly enough with any of the others to really get mingling yet.

"People do a lot of weird shit when it comes to drinking," Simon answered sagely with a chuckle as it was clearly hard for Summer to wrap her head around. Honestly it was a relief for a big brother to know that his little sister wasn't a hardcore drinker.

He tipped his head to watch as Summer swayed on the spot before he shifted over a little, patting the spot next to him, indicating that if she wanted to join him then she could.

"Want me to go and get the movie changed?"

She felt a little bit like a dork, finding her big brother at a party and hanging out with him. But it was vaguely normal and when she worked up the confidence she needed to just rock to the drinks table and get a beer without a second look, she'd do that. She just needed to tap into her inner Fitch and go for it.

"You mean like Beer Pong? Where they throw the ball into the cup and then drink the cup? That cannot be sanitary." Drinking games were weird, of course anything more involved than Spin the Bottle Truth or Dare was more than Summer had ever done anyway.

"It's fine," even as she got comfy, "Others are enjoying it, clearly their intelligence is below mine and they appreciate mindless humour. I'm waiting for the karaoke to really kick up." Even though she probably wouldn't sing.

"That's one of Henry's favourite games," Simon pointed out as he took a further sip from his cup. Simon had also taken part and just so happened to be really good at it but that was a story for another day and another time.

He tipped his head to look over at Summer. "You planning on singing or just enjoying others try and sing and some fail miserably?" Because honestly not everybody was blessed with a voice but that definitely didn't stop some of them, but hey, more power to them.

Simon might check out the karaoke before he'd find his way to the dancefloor.

"I think you just made my argument for why it's really dumb." Honestly, how hard was it to get a pingpong ball in a red cup? But a lot of party games seemed to just be about getting drunk slower if she were honest. Because really, you probably needed to be at least a little in control of your senses to win that.

Although singing karaoke was still up in the air; on the one hand, it was just a bit of fun. On the other, it wasn't like she wouldn't see these people again if she sucked. Although Summer rarely wanted to admit she wasn't good at something. But her voice was not the best, and apparently there were sirens around here. And pop stars. "I dunno yet, it depends on how much beer they let me have." Because there was sometimes a need for liquid courage.

"I might just watch, I hear there's some proper singers here and stuff."

Simon snorted quietly as he got the distinct feeling that his sister protested too much. As did Henry. Granted for Simon it was weird and he wasn't exactly going to embrace whatever happened there with open arms because he wasn't that generous.

"Harder than you think," Simon muttered as he took a further sip of his beer. "And if you want to do it then I'll do it with you." The elder Fitch was very hard to embarrass and didn't shy away from things like public singing especially as he wasn't exactly terrible. He could definitely carry a tune.

It was either that or dancing.

"Oh yes." Summer's confidence wasn't lacking; she was bright, fun, energetic, she had flawless taste in clothes, hair and make up and an excellent personality. She knew all of that. But social situations with a bunch of peers who were, typically, older than her? It was a little bit awkward.

She appreciated that she had the buffer of her brother there. She didn't need his back-up, but she liked having it all the same so that if things did get a little iffy -like she bombed out, which was unusual but not unheard of- it wasn't like he'd let her feel horrific about it.

And there were just certain things that Summer idolised about her big brother that made it all the more easier to have him around to get her involved in. Singing in front of a bunch of strangers wouldn't have been a big deal if she knew more people there, but it didn't seem too horrid with Simon along for the ride. "I won't even pick a stupid song."

"Only fair," Simon muttered with a mock serious expression before he downed what was left of his drink as if they were in fact going to hit up karaoke he couldn't exactly have a mouthful of beer.

He shifted to get to his feet, tossing the empty cup in the nearby trashcan because the Fitch siblings for all their privilege weren't complete jackasses.

Simon returned to Summer and offered his hand. "C'mon."
